Loading Splash screen

Fri Sep 16, 2011 11:43 am

My 1.2 Primo is one gleaned from here . It says Navitotal on the splash screen.
The splash screen is very similar to the iGO8 blue splash screen.
I would like to personalise it.
Unfortunately I thought it may be in the branding ui-igo9 my res, but doesnt appear to be there.
Any clues?

In the data.zip/ui_/igo9/res_res

Are you sure that's not "Navigon"?:)

It's about the Navitotal-Primo release by torrent, a few months back, but you knew that ;)

Actually, I didn't know that, but the May one I posted (which I think Bazzle may have tried) was originally a Navigon Device release with their original splash screen (which I replaced for my own personal unit also, but I leave the 'posted' ones alone).

hi

I have P1.2-9.2.0.192885 --- 20 May 2011 running perfectly; however the one thing that annoys me
is that when it loads up instead of getting the "normal" primo loading splash screen i just get a picture
of a black car.

how do i get rid of the black car & get the "normal" loading splash screen back?

as per nabi's post 2 if i look in data,zip/ui_igo9/res_res I cannot see what to change.

thank you

Look and see if you have a file called loading.bmp in any of the folders in your Primo file structure. If so, copy and open it on your PC and see if it is the one that you don't like.
If it is, move it (or them) out of your Primo folder(s) to your PC, restart Primo on your device, and see what happens.

If you have no obvious loading.bmp visible, whomever customized that setup went a bit further, so the next solution will be a bit harder. Post back and let me know.

I eventually located the correct Loading file in branding, ui_igo9, 800x480, loading.bmp (no idea why i couldnt find it earlier :() and by using win Rar swapped in a pic of my Car too. Used Vueprint to resize a pic :girl_cool: :curtsey:

Sometimes I cant see the the forest "cause of the trees :scratch_one-s_head_

hi
thks all done & sorted with your help & winrar.

i found the loading.bmp file in the data.zip [in data,zip/ui_igo9/res_res] that i wanted to change;
i then deleted it.

i then found another data.zip [same resolution obviously] copied the loading.bmp to the desktop from
there; & then with winrar added that loading.bmp back into the old data.zip; & it worked a treat.

thks for steering me in the right direction.

doh!!! all is not well in the kingdom of denmark.

[i shd have added in my earlier post that primo would not load when i deleted the car loading.bmp
but did when i put in the loading.bmp from the other data.zip]

when i started primo up today the black car appeared ~ i found the same black car as the exiting.bmp
& changed that as well, as in my previous post.
i deleted the save folder & started primo up & had no car, however, when i restarted it again the car had mysteriously returned again, i've searched in the data folder & cannot find where the car is coming from.
can u suggest a good 320x240 data zip for primo 1.2 9.2.0. 192885 so i can replace this one or can i just change something in the zip ~ apart from the car appearing the data.zip works well.

Loading.bmp can also be in branding.zip and/or a (skin).zip file within your resolution folder --if you are using a skin. If loading.bmp is present in such files, it can be replaced as you have done in data.zip
Or you can try this without having to find replacement zip files:
Create a folder under {Primo}/ called ui_igo9. Inside that folder create another with your resolution (ie 320_240). Then create another folder in the resolution folder called skin_night.
In the res_res folder and the skin_night folder, put the loading.bmp you want to use (that matches your resolution of course).
Then restart and see what happens. You may have to delete the Save folder again to see any changes.

AAHHHHHH it has all fallen into place.

Inside the resolution folder i found a folder called skin_night & the car bmp's [loading & exiting] were in there also, i changed them to the one's from the other data.zip [in skin_night] & now it's ok.
what i'd done previously was only change the day loading screen & i needed to chge the night one as well.

thku again

Hi
Me also trying to figure out the day and night loading.bmp issue.

Does this mean that the files in skin_night will load at the night and ui_igo9 folder is use as the day time loading ?

Me try to remove the loading bmp in skin_night, it will load the day, but once the file loading.bmp is in the folder, seem it default to skin_night

Please help if some one know

I guess the answer to your question is "Yes".

If you mean can you have different loading screens for day/night, the answer is also "Yes".
If everything is set up correctly. And your device has the correct time.
