I'm 99% sure that your device was somehow improperly wired to the speaker system since the non-TTS voice works OK. Hopefully, YT [igo mod here] will read this thread and offer some advice. Fingers crossed.

Hey Chas...thanks for everything you've done to help me.

I've been in contact with another person who bought the same unit/same car and he also said that it was not plug and play as they said (Road Rover).

A lot of wiring all over the place.

But in his case, he was fortunate that Road Rover had a local tech guy do the install for him and in his case since the unit didn't like his iPhone, they pulled it
out and waiting for the upgraded model.

Would love to pull mine and try to rewire it, but I don't have the expertise to do it.

Chances are, there is a spaghetti mess of wires bundled in the dash behind the unit. It would be impossible to offer any valid guidance without physically seeing the back of the unit and the vehicle wiring. Each and every make of car can have different standards as to what color wires attach to where--and each and every DIN unit, the same differences. It is possible that something is wrong..could be as simple as a wrong adapter being used, or speakers wired out of phase. Then again, it could be how that unit operates and nothing can be done about it. Unless somebody has an identical unit and is NOT experiencing low volume during navigation, there is no way to know anything for sure at this point.
Sorry. And good luck.
But that's just my opinion..I could be wrong.

Here's what bothers me. There have been hundreds of folks that have downloaded my program on their installed systems and not one has complained [or even brought up] of a problem with volume. If anything, it's too loud LOL. Seriously, I have to think that in your case it's either a problem with the way it was wired or with the device itself. You may just have to live with non-TTS. BTW, it's not so terrible if you do.

That's for sure. I don't use 'your' program or voices, but I'm sure it's probably similar to what I have with Primo2 and Nuance TTS-Pro.
I keep the car stereo unit at '10' (out of 50) and the voice sounds within Primo at about 25% on the slider.
Otherwise Jill YELLS her instructions at me and I don't like that.
I get enough yelling without the GPS doing it too.
But that's just my opinion..I could be wrong.

Sure wish there was a wiring guru in NJ that would be willing to look at it at a reasonable cost.
