iGO8 problem

Wed Nov 30, 2011 12:04 pm

Hello Forum,

I am having trouble with my Navman S50 with a sd card loading iGO8.

So far what i have done is Copied the Media and MioAutoRun folders and their contents from the Miopocket package to the root of the SD card.

Created another folder on the SD card and rename it S50,

Copied MortScript.exe (didn`t rename)
MioAutoRun.exe ---> renamed to Auto.exe
MioAutoRun.mscr ---> renamed to Auto.mscr

Turned the satnav off and unplugged the USB cable, turned it back on and waited for MioPocket 4 to load, which it did.

Then went into the sd root and copied iGO8 folder.

And form here i am having trouble when i have restarted the satnav again, if i press the iGO8 icon it tries to load but goes back to the GPS menu.

Has anyone else got a Navman S50 they can help me ?

Derek.

First of all, Miopocket itself is the cause of many problems.

Do you get any error messages?
Did you set up the path to iGO?
Have you got anything else to run?

Since you specify no error messages:
Can you tell us what iGO build and where you got it? Did you delete the save folder before starting the first time?
Also can you open data.zip/ui_igo8 (can be ui_igo9)? Preferably copy to you PC and open the copy on your PC to prevent zip errors. In that file you will see one or more files that cover resolutions, example (480_272). Is your resolution file there?
When there is a sys.txt (will be there), is there a resolution specified and is that resolution correct? And also is there a [device] section and in that section a line "type=" with a device name? It won't be Navman S50, thus delete it.

i didn`t setup the path to iGO8, not sure how to.

The iGO8 i have is 8.3.5.183522 from bazzle01 on a different forum. and no I did not delete the save folder before starting the first time.

in the data.zip/ui_igo8 i can not see 480_272 which is my resolution i think.

and i don`t see a [device] section.

in the sys.txt i see resolution_dir="800_480"

Wed Nov 30, 2011 12:47 pm

Yes, your device is 480*272. When this resolution is not in data.zip, it explains all. The line in sys.txt is a confirmation.

Replace the complete iGO8 by this one : http://www.navitotal.com/showthread.php?7048-iGO-8.3.5.193799-27th-May-2011
or this one : http://www.navitotal.com/showthread.php?6880-Igo8-March-5-2011

Ignore the part about Tomtom, Everything else is valid, make sure you uninstall miopocket.

Thanks for the help guys, i am downloading iGO 8.3.5.193799 27th May 2011.

Should i format my sd card first ?

Then i`ll follow that tutorial.

Wed Nov 30, 2011 1:39 pm

One question about that tutorial. where it says: Browse your device with Windows explorer on your PC and copy everything to a safe location, Don't disconnect yet.

Does that mean copy my navman s50 folders on the flash disk ?

Wed Nov 30, 2011 1:43 pm

Copy (NOT MOVE) everything on My Flash Disk somewhere safe.

Have you uninstalled Miopocket yet?

Wed Nov 30, 2011 1:47 pm

Yep removed MioPocket and i have all my navman folders saved on disk.

And i have to download AutoActivate right ?

Wed Nov 30, 2011 2:09 pm

I`m trying to download the Australia 880.3865 and i`m redirected to filefactory.com but i cant see the download. i see alot of adds !
