Probably you did not delete the save folder, so do before trying again! You will have to set iGO up once more, but should not get the 480*272 error once again.

I deleted the save folder and it works great!!:D The only problem now is that I sat in the car in the middle of a parking lot with pretty clear skies for 40 minutes trying to get the GPS to fix and it didn't work.

Did you set your GPS port and baud rate settings yourself or did you let iGO guess at them, If the baud rate is wrong your device will see the satellites but not get a lock.

I'm assuming that igo guessed at them. I selected auto detect from the menu. I'll try and run the GPSScandebugger to determine the settings.

Interms of "seeing" the satellites, I'm not seeing any satellites on the screen when I zoom all the way out.

In the iGO settings menu there will be a GPS status option, This will tell you whether your device can see any satellites, Another thought is... Does your device require an external aerial that's not been fitted?

Look here at #18 http://www.navitotal.com/forums/showthread.php?962-How-To-s-Tutorials-and-Tweaks

I ran the debugger and it confirmed

Port:com2
BaudRate:9600
Protocol:NMEA

Next I guess is confirming whether external aerial is needed. I hope the crappy manual has the info in there.

I hope your manual has the info. My guess is the GPS antenna is not or wrongly fixed to the device.

This may not look as your devices back, but gives an idea:

Yep, confirmed on Maisun's website ----------> [Please Register or Login to download file] that it needs an antenna. BTW my model is MT6505.

Are they standard and easy to install? Do you know if I can install a US digital TV antenna as well?<---------might as well if I have to remove the 2din.

Was the GPS antenna no part of the package? It usually is.
And usually, the install is easy. Maybe here is the case that a screw is not tightened or so during installation?

was not installed direct from box. unit was removed from another car. I asked the person who installed it about the antenna and they said they didn't remove one from the other car. Looks like I have to acquire one.

I need to purchase and antenna for the unit. Can a universal antenna be attached to this? I will have someone remove the unit in the next couple of days but I thought I'd order an antenna so I can hook it up when it's removed. I'm just worried about the physical connection. Also, what kind of an antenna gets hooked to the TV terminal.

I understand that this is outside of the "igo8 core" issues. Perhaps someone can point me in the right direction.

This question is really made for our former mod 'Yoff'. But he hasn't been here the last 4 months :(
I hope that some other technical mind knows the answer. Or that Yoff returns.

A ebay search for one with your plug is all you need to do.

Ive swapped a few plugs. All ant's seem to be the same.

TV the same search a portable TV aerial [Please Register or Login to download file]
Same thing, verify your connection.
Dont expect much from the TV, normally not worth the effort.
