Ok, Start iGO and go to Settings (Page 2/2) -> GPS, Untick GPS Enabled, Tap Autodetect and wait while the GPS hardware is found, Then go outside and wait for a satellite lock.

You may need to delete the save directory after making edits to the sys.txt, It can sometimes hold onto old entries.

The save folder is where iGO's settings are stored, deleting it resets iGO to it's default settings, and fixes many problems, A new save folder will be created the next time iGO is started.

These are the correct entries for [rawdisplay]

[rawdisplay]
screen_x=800
screen_y=480

Go through the sys text and remove these lines...

From [interface]

vga=0
resolution_dir="XXX_XXX" (XXX_XXX will be numbers)
skin="ui_igo8"

and the whole [rawdisplay] section.

Later versions of iGO8 can figure out the resolution itself.

Restart iGO8

Doesnt load at all now

I press 'navi' and it just restarts the whole system

ok got it working using this 'sys'

[Please Register or Login to download file]

no maps on screen though

does the map go in content/map?

my map folder is on the root at the moment

All working now!

Put 'maps' in content/maps

Many thanks to you both for all your help!

The driver line may be significant, usually it just causes a fatal error on wince.

But if it works, go with it...

my screen resolution is 800 x 480

it also didnt show any map. it was just a blue arrow on a black screen. i put the uk map i have in the map folder on the root

Please stop doing what you're doing and do this. I want you to edit [color="#FF0000"]my[/color] sys.txt to have the following entries:

[interface]
resolution_dir="800_480"
vga=0

[rawdisplay]
highres=0
screen_x=800
screen_y=480
class="landscape"

Don't forget to delete the save folder. Also delete any entry in my sys.txt that refers to 480_272.
If it ain't broke don't fix it!
ALWAYS BACK-UP YOUR FILES/FOLDERS BEFORE MAKING EDITING CHANGES!

Please do NOT post any thanks. Simply press the hand icon with the "thumb up" which is the thank you button.
