IGo8 crash ...

i have an Igo8 7'' Car DVD GpS and it was going good than suddenly it crashes and says
GPS File Path
/StorageCard/NWDSoftware.exe
i open my sd card on pc but cant find the file .. there is IGO.exe
ihave the maps ... ihave tryed the memory card in another GPS and it works ....
HELP PLEASE !

NWDSoftware.exe is a default path/file from the system. As you found out, the file itself is not there, certainly not on SD. That is why nothing is wrong with the SD.

I am not technical, Fatboyfun is, but I have seen a similar error caused by the unit loosing power quickly not attached to a power source.
It's possible that there may be a small battery inside the unit that could be dead, like the CMOS battery in a computer.
Or the main battery itself is dying.
It could show when the device settings returned to factory settings after disconnecting the power (or ignition off - iGO settings won't change since they are stored in the save folder on SD)

Maybe Fatboyfun can enlighten more.

Can you reset the path back to iGO.exe?

I would suspect the unit has probably reset back to default after the crash

oh ... my unit goes on factory settings when i cut power of car ... it means the battery is dead ....

No i cant Reset the path ... thats the problem

Sounds like the backup battery is dead, but there may be a solution, as iGO saves it's settings inside it's own directory these won't be lost, so use something like simple launcher from this thread to point to it.

Rename the files as described in the instructions to match what the device is looking for.

i tried to change the battery but i cant found another 1 ...
now i can change software path but it doesnt recognise the memory cad ... its empty when i try to change path .
the mem card works in aother IGO8 car dvd ..
