Igo Primo2 volume on BinatoneF430

Igo Primo2 volume on BinatoneF430

Postby halcyon » Sun Sep 29, 2013 5:18 pm

Using the downloads taken from here and installed using the SD card.

Question: Is there anyway to increase the volume?

I have all the settings in the PND to max and I am using plug in ear phones to listen to the directions when on my motorcycle.
I have tried swapping earphone sets and the max volume remains the same so it is not the earphones.

Is there a way to tweek the program to increase the volume? I remember one thread that a user download his PND content and stated the volume had been increased by 20%.
A tweek in the voice or language settings perhaps?

Thanks.

That's because he used my modified igo8 program instead of Primo.

AFAIK, it won't work too well on Primo. You can try this sys.txt entry though. The gain increases the volume. Be careful though with the increasing the number since too much could blow your speakers.

[dynamiccompressor]
compressor=1
a0=56806
thrs=24703
ratio=8
gain=10

I`ve just had a quick look into my sys.text and there is no line for the dynamic compressor such as you posted, the sys.txt is really very basic.

Here:

[debug]
skip_eula=1
experimental_features=1

[gps]
Port=7
Baud=57600

[interface]
show_exit=1
extra_settings=1
show_programs=1
shutdown_time=5

[other]
demo_enabled=0

[sound]
ding=0
queue_length=200
mute_os_key=1
pause_mp3_sooner=1
csv_voice_enabled=1

[speedcam]
enable_at_startup=1

[vr]
disabled=1

[warning]
warn_distances=130:800,110:600,90:400,60:200,40:150
speedcam_max_lookahead=1000

I`m waiting for another SD card before I try this as the program is working fine and I don`t want to bugger it up by bumbling into the sys.txt unless I have a backup :-)

When I do try the modification where do you recommend I write the new lines?
I`m also building a small external speaker box using the speakers out of an old laptop and will plug this into the headphone socket when using it in the car too see if increases volume, not ideal but I have a noisy car as well and can barely hear her (yep I`ve opted for the Aussie bird Jennifer ;-) ).

Thanks again Chas :-)

Just copy/paste the entries I gave you above into the sys.txt. Remember to save the application before exiting it.

The headphone output on pna type devices is usually terrible.

I find they're "noisy", ie low signal to noise ratio manifesting as clicks, pops and hiss over the output from iGO.

@Halycon

Doing what Chas said will not break the Navi. Its just an addition to a text file. It can be left there if you dont like it. Just put ; in front of the text. Use notepad etc to edit and save back into original file.

[dynamiccompressor]
compressor=1
a0=56806
thrs=24703
ratio=8
gain=10

That line has worked for me in Primo in a 2 Din ok.
