iGO Primo remove or overrride battery icon

Postby HiroboFreak » Sat Sep 17, 2011 9:40 am

Hi guys,

I have a 2din all-in-one unit running iGO Primo 1.2
Since it's always powered from the vehicle, I was hoping that there was some (easy) way to remove the battery icon, or at least override it to display it was running on "external" power.

Any thoughts?

Thanks.

Battery icon?
Where are you seeing it?
I see nothing about the battery or power until I unplug mine (portable unit).

I'm running iGO Primo on an in-car unit, hence the battery icon isn't required.

Top left corner in the pic. Always shows 1 bar of battery.

So you only see it (very tiny) in the navigation menu view, and not during actual navigation?
Easy way is just to ignore it. It's built-in there and not removable that I know of. Or skip the cockpit/navigation menu view altogether and go straight to the map screen if it bothers you that much.

Yes I wasn't losing sleep over such a minor issue, I was merely wondering if it's possible to remove it that's all. :)

Don't think so--unless you can get a skinner to do it for you. Which they probably would not bother with.
You CAN easily just automatically skip that screen and go directly to Map View if you like (a couple quick steps to do). Everything that is available 'to do' on the navigation screen is also available in the Map View if you adjust the Quick Menu settings a bit. And you can always go back to the Navigation menu with a tap/hold (aka "Long Press") on the button in Map View.

For anybody who wants to know (yes it really is this easy):
1) Put this in sys.txt (if it is not there already):
[interface]
extra_settings=1

Then restart Primo
2) Tap Settings=>Extra Settings
3) Tick Skip Navigation Menu
Done.

Or there is another thing that can be done. Instead of using Primo 1.2, he can use iGO8 that I modified some time ago and go DIRECTLY to the map screen instead of the menu http://www.navitotal.com/forums/showthread.php?6880-Igo8-March-5-2011
If it ain't broke don't fix it!
ALWAYS BACK-UP YOUR FILES/FOLDERS BEFORE MAKING EDITING CHANGES!

Please do NOT post any thanks. Simply press the hand icon with the "thumb up" which is the thank you button.

RE/ iGO Primo remove or overrride battery icon

Postby Vitoj » Sat Sep 01, 2012 2:15 pm

Hi just replace three files in your data.zip //data.zip\ui_igo9\800_480 (or whatever your resolituons is)=(same way as you change loading.bmp) and you won't see any battery ico. Have fun...
(three files are: batterychargeing_ico.bmp, batteryfulllevel_ico.bmp, batterylevel_ico.bmp)

How to:
First you make a picture.bmp (whole image - blue) than you named it as uper listed files and replaced in data.zip

Every time I edit the contents of the data.zip the program no longer works.

Thanks for the info though.

You do not edit data.zip, you push files into and replace old ones.

Using WinRAR, open data.zip (by double clicking on it) and find \ui_igo8\800x480 and add batterylevel_ico.bmp, batteryfulllevel_ico.bmp, batterychargeing_ico.bmp (that you already made before) to the archive (by choosing the ADD button in the top left corner of Winrar and then navigating to where you have your loading screen picture saved on your PC) overwriting the original ".bmp"
