iGo, Primo, Mio and Garmin on one SD card

Postby coukou » Thu Apr 25, 2013 1:56 pm

Hello chas521,

I just purchase a seconhand Mio Moov S505. I've unlocked it and installed yr iGO 8.3.5.183522. It works like a charm ;)

Today I'm looking to install yr Garmin XT and Primo 1.1 on one SD Card like you.
According to your advice, I choose Primo 1.1. Did you change yr mind since then and you're using Primo 2.4? If so, I wonder it from yr device.

I really appreciate your help for any advices preparing this project.
Regards

No! I did not change my mind about Primo. Primo 1.1 is still the best for NA. I only changed my Primo on my SD card so I could become somewhat familiar with it and can possibly answer questions - if I can that is. However, it does NOT navigate well in my part of the world. I use iGO8 exclusively. I wish you the best.

TNX for replying,

Here my sys.txt of iGO8
Code: Select all
[folders]
app="Storage card/iGO8"
content="\Storage card\igo8\content"

May you let me know if the iGO8 and Primo 1.1 has similar content folder and subfolders? If so, how to redirect the Primo 1.1 content folder to the same one as iGO8?

Try this:

You can share MAP content (POI, Maps, DEM, Buildings). You possibly can share voices.
It's all a matter of getting the paths and the names correct.
For example, you have all your map content in iGo8.
You add to Primo sys.txt something like this:

[folders]
maps="Storage Card\{your igo8 folder name}\content\map"
poi="Storage Card\{your igo8 folder name}\content\poi"
buildings="Storage Card\{your igo8 folder name}\content\/building"
dem="Storage Card\{your igo8 folder name}\content\dem"
has_secondary_root=0
If it ain't broke don't fix it!

Hi chas521,

I tested yr Primoi with the included basemap, it works just fine

By deleting the basemap and adding sys.txt bellow, I got "[color="#FF0000"]Map files cannot be found[/color]" error message.
Code: Select all
[folders]
map="Storage Card\iGO8\content\map"
poi="Storage Card\iGO8\content\poi"
building="Storage Card\iGO8\content\building"
dem="Storage Card\iGO8\content\dem"
has_secondary_root=0

As you can see in here bellow image, the paths and the names are correct.

Any idea how to share the MAP content?
Regards

You may find primo only supports the content="***" entry, and not map, poi, etc.

I'm sure this came up before...

Finally I got it ;)

This tested works like a charm
Code: Select all
[folders]
has_secondary_root=0
sdcardpath="\Storage Card\IGO8"
maps="..\..\IGO8\content\map"
dem="..\..\IGO8\content\dem"
buildings="..\..\IGO8\content\building"
voice="..\..\IGO8\content\voice"
poi="..\..\IGO8\content\poi"

I've 3 more questions:
1) Do anyone have a link for tts_loq other than English (French, Hebrew)?
2) What file or command launch the Mio S505 navigation (not the menu)?
3) Do chas521 Garmin XT is already cracked/patched?

Don't mess around with the moov's startup sequence other than using a compatible unlock, the USB drivers are called by one of the exe files during boot up.

Changing this = NO USB CONNECTION!

Glad to hear that you got it working.

In answer to your TTS questions:
1. TTS_LOQ is not for different languages. It's the necessary files just to have TTS. Different languages require the proper .dlls found here in the blue box http://www.navitotal.com/showthread.php?912-TTS-voices-and-components
2. FBF working with you already.
3. Yes it is cracked.

This - 1st quote from him. He's telling you that editing any program in the MOOV's startup will cause your computer not to recognize that you have a device connected.

I not intend to editing/modifying any program in the MOOV's startup. What I'm looking for is how to launch MioMap from a file in the SD card with a command like
Code: Select all
\Storage Card\iGO8\Igo8.exe

Beside this, as you have Multi navigator in the same SD Card, what command are you using to launch your MioMap?
