Igo Primo Android Chinese 2 Din Settings Problems

Postby mortein » Fri Jun 14, 2013 5:45 am

Thanks fatboyfun. I'm really a novice and have never loaded an Adroid app or any other app for that matter, so I might need some basic help. My in car system has wifi so I can connect to the Internet and download files which may avoid the issue with the SD card slot for now. So what do I download and how do I install. Unfortunately all the links I have found are in green and only lead to advertising. I'm at the point of giving up and sending my unit back but thought I'd try one last time if you can help. Thanks

Without a SD card you won't be able to install anything, Going back to post #1 you posted it was not possible to save settings, I would say the card was mounted as read only, and now it's not mounting at all.

I'm thinking this is a hardware problem.

Maybe a factory reset might fix it?

Thanks again fatboyfun. I've worked all day on it today and have managed to load iGO through the USB cable that comes out the back of the system. It seems to work faster than the SD card slot (which still doesnt work and is probably faulty). So I am now back to where I started (minus a working SD card slot). I cant keep any settings I make in iGO nor can I keep date and time in Android. Funny thing is the Android music player remembers that last song I was playing. I cant help but think its a software issue but I really dont know. I've spent hours in Android settings and iGo settings trying different things but nothing seems to work. Any other ideas?????

There are no settings i know of that stops Primo saving it's settings, Only thing i can think of is how you are shutting it down? Just switching off may not save settings held in RAM, it's common to hold disk writes in a cache for a short time before committing them to disk.

Thanks again. I've tried several different exit options and the result is always the same. Doesnt matter whether I exit the program itself and return to the main Android menu or just shut it off. My problem is also to do with Android (not just iGO) so I think there is an issue with the setup or the hardware itself. Anyway after spending way too much time on this, I've decided to return it to the manufacturer for either a refund or a working version. Thanks for all your help.

It does sound like a problem with Android itself!

Always shut down the program by exiting through the program and not just shutting off the device.
If it ain't broke don't fix it!
ALWAYS BACK-UP YOUR FILES/FOLDERS BEFORE MAKING EDITING CHANGES!

Please do NOT post any thanks. Simply press the hand icon with the "thumb up" which is the thank you button.

I bought the 2 dins Android GPS from eBay last month and received last week. I got the exactly same problem and tried every method this thread suggested. The problem was not solved. Later, I copied GPS 4GB card content to my Galaxy Note II. It run well after installation and settings was able to be saved on the Note II. Then, "save" folder on the Note II was transferred to its original location on the GPS 4GB card. Now it works well, but any changes of settings made on CAR 2 dins GPS are still lost once car turned off.

It's very frustrating. I tried many difference ways but still not working. Hope that some one out there know how to fix it.

Look here, it may be the sdcard mounting as read only...

I did check SD card not read only, I can copy , delete rename the files. I asked the seller pumpkin cool and got the answer that " All the car android system can not save setting". My even worse the playing music from USB alway scan fron the beginning untill complete the USB then start playing where it left off or rescan from the beginning if I swith to radio then swich it back .It's frustrating for waiting for scan again. I'll post all about for people know to avoid to buy this

That's not true, are you starting iGO manually, or does it start automatically when Android boots?
