Igo 8.3.5, diMka skin and speed cam alerts

Wed Feb 27, 2013 2:08 pm

Hi

I'm using Igo 8.3.5.183522 with [Please Register or Login to download file] .

Question about the speed camera alerts.
I use the audio folder for this alerts, and beside the audio alert, I get the beep as well.
Is there a way to hear only the audio alerts (cancel the beep)?

Thanks for any input.

Any more ideas?

I am not using diMKa on my 8.3.5.
Isn't there a setting how to get the warning? Like "voice only - sound only - voice and sound".

Using the default skin I have this settings:

Sound warning: Off/Simple/Full sound

But with the "Full sound" it sounds only the beep. With the Dimka skin it sounds the audio+beep.
I hate this beep, and now even more, when I got the audio files for my language, Hebrew.

I can understand that, but in the diMKA skin settings, section warnings, did you check?
As I said, I don't use that skin, I use Gurjon on iGO8.3.5 and I have the audio folder in my language. I do not have a beep.
DimKA and Gurjon are much alike, even they do look different.

I was looking around, but I don't have a clue how to get to this "skin settings" nor "section warnings".
On the other hand, in overspeed settings I have the options to choose in "warning type" between "Voice and alert sound", "Only voice" or "Only alert sound". But I don't use overspeed alerts, so it was not checked yet.

Nothing works for me.
Will love to have a working link for latest version of Gurjon skin, to check if this one will work for me.
Thanks.

That would be Gurjon6.18. I have 3 versions, slightly different.

Thanks.
Only first link works. Will check first thing in the morning and update here.

Just for your interest, all 3 links work now and here

Maybe I woke up too late:) links dead, but never mind, I've checked the one you use.

It acts the same way that the default skin does:
Sound warning: Off/Simple/Full sound
With the "Full sound" it sounds only the beep.

I give up, with the Dimka skin it sounds the audio+beep. Since I can hear the warning in my lang, I can live with it. I would like to give it a refinement, but I waste too much time on it.

I realy appreciate your eager to help

I can't look right now what my precise settings are, but will do later.

Before going on : first check 3 things:
1. if the audio folder is in the right spot (in iGO root)
2. if the audio/language folder has the right name - this can be tricky, I think for Hebrew it's name is "HE", thus audio/HE. This is a very common error !
3. check the separate voice files. This may sound strange, but in my language, one of the voices isn't my language. And some more flaws. So if your voice file is faulty ....

These are my settings:

Goto menu

settings - warnings ( I translate from my language "on the go")
warning on speeding = enabled
tap on [..]
in town (slider) : set to 0 km/h
outside town (slider) : set to 0 km/h
type : fixed value
voice warning : disabled
visual warning : enabbled
blink sign : always
next page:
display : always
sound alert on speeding on = off
sound alert on speeding off = on

back

warnings speedcameras = enabled
tap on [..]
visual warning = enabled
tap on [..]
show speedcam when speed is faster than : 10km/h
(rest is visual placing on screen)
On the bottom is a button "speech warning"
language = 'your language'
volume (slider) = 63
pause in seconds (slider) 4
repeating distance (slider) 600

back

voice warning = enabled
tap on [..] gives the screen speech warning (see just above)
at arriving = disabled
at speeding = enabled
sound on hiding = off
sound when speeding = !user4
warn on deviation (slider) = 0

Then

tapping on the camara images gives warning far a type of camera on or off
tapping on test : you can test each sound depending on the speedcam

Mine work without any ding.

I guess that the audio path is OK, otherwise it wouldn't work for me on Dimka.

Are we talking on same skin, Gurjon???
I'll add the differences (what shows in mine) in red.

settings - warnings
(I'll ignore overspeeding, it's not the issue right now)

warnings speedcameras = enabled
tap on [..] Sound warning: Off/Simple/Full sound (no more options [..])
visual warning = enabled
tap on [..] Visual warning: On/Off (no more options [..])

(all next 7 lines is missing)
show speedcam when speed is faster than : 10km/h
(rest is visual placing on screen)
On the bottom is a button "speech warning"
language = 'your language'
volume (slider) = 63
pause in seconds (slider) 4
repeating distance (slider) 600

back

voice warning = enabled
tap on [..] gives the screen speech warning (see just above)
at arriving = disabled Warning type: Only voice/Voice and sound/Only sound
at speeding = enabled Sound mode: Always/Once
sound on hiding = off missing
sound when speeding = !user4 Sound type: !alert4
warn on deviation (slider) = 0 Sound delay,sec: 4

Then
don't have this settings
tapping on the camara images gives warning far a type of camera on or off
tapping on test : you can test each sound depending on the speedcam

As I asked before, are we talking on same skin?
I've change the language to English, just to see if there is any differences, found 2 minor, but in general it looks not like yours.
I'll go back to the Dimke.

Thanks a million!
