How to disable u turns in Primo 1.2 ??

Postby HiroboFreak » Tue Sep 20, 2011 10:09 am

Guys,

Primo makes me do (unnecessary) u turns in the most awkward, illegal & even impossible places.
Eg: near my house, there is a No Right Turn onto a highway, it will suggest I do a left onto the highway then an impossible u turn instead of selecting a very simple alternative.
Is there any way to disable u turns?

Code: Select all
[route]
allow_uturn="0"
doesn't work.

I've tried in sys.txt & save/system.ini & achieved nothing.

I did delete save/route.dat before making the change & nothing seems to work. :wallbash:

Please help. :(

The battery on my device is almost dead now so I can't see anything to get into a problem unless I go outside and connect it to my car. Offhand, isn't there an option to stop U-turns in the program itself?

EDIT: You also might try changing your setting to "easy" rather than fast - which you probably have now.
If it ain't broke don't fix it!
ALWAYS BACK-UP YOUR FILES/FOLDERS BEFORE MAKING EDITING CHANGES!

Please do NOT post any thanks. Simply press the hand icon with the "thumb up" which is the thank you button.

With all my attempts I'm pretty sure I tried that too, but I will try again.

Thanks.

There is no setting for U turns in the program itself.

I will try the "easy" method.

I do not use Primo, but thought the line was:

uturn_penalty=5000 ;(1000)

And no, I don't know what a higher or lower number means.

Really?
I thought that command/value had something do with the seriousness of the fine you'd cop if you got caught doing it.

No idea really. ;)
Sys.txt is not documented.

You may find this as a function/option in some skins. I could not find it in diMka, but I read (somewhere) that "Allow U Turns" is a tickable Route option in GJ-AK:
http://www.navitotal.com/forums/showthread.php?7162-GJ_AK_SkinPack_v3.10.1_920-for-Primo-1.2
I cannot confirm this, but it would not hurt to try the skin and find out.

I tried that skin & couldn't find the "Allow U turns" option anywhere.

The interface of that skin isn't very "Wife-Friendly" either.

OK, sorry about that. I must have read it wrong or it was some other skin.
Like all skins, the interface is very customizable to make it as 'friendly' as you might like, but you certainly don't have to use it if you don't like it.
