Historical Traffic

Thu Aug 01, 2013 3:03 pm

I have just installed Primo 2.4 with the full color POI pack(800x400).

It runs extremely well except for some niggles. The main one is if I select Historical Traffic from the menu, as soon as I click select the device freezes and I have to power down to recover the program. It also freezes if when in itinery if I click on one of the waypoints it also freezes with the same result.

Can anyone explain why this happens?

No, except the Primo 2.4 is somewhat buggy. Newer builds will be less buggy
Replacing the global.cfg file may (or may not) solve the problem.

Hi nabi

Thanks for replying.

I have replaced thr global.cfg file and included the "save" file in the primo2 directory.

First try indicates all is working.........I'll try it fully tomorrow and report back.

I've not tried a recent build of 2.4 but the last one I tried crashed on a regular basis.

I have changed my global_cfg file to v316988 and now my system works perfectly.

The only gripe I have is that the GPS position is about 20-30 yards out and this is confusing when the turn now signal comes after you have passed the turning.

Strange. There is a correction feature in the Sys.txt file. If you give me 15 minutes I'll find it for you. You can set the correction in ms I believe and this can be useful for fixing over reactive GPS but it depends how far you are out and which direction.

2.4 is still hit and miss imo so don't jump to conclusions yet mate.

Hi

Can anyone shed any light on the correction feature referred to by Skezza. This is to align the GPS location with the road position of the car.

Any help is much appreciated.

I don't know if this is going to shed any light on your problem but current GPS navigation is only accurate to about 15-20 yards or meters. There is talk about launching new satellites in the future which will decrease that amount to about 1-2 yards/meters.
