Help putting iGo on Omnitech 16878

Postby nabi » Tue Apr 12, 2011 8:44 pm

If it works, can you post how you solved it?
It will help others with the same device.
Thanks!

Before I go any further I want to say I could not have completed this hack without the help from this site. But mainly the help from chas521,Fatboyfun, &nabi. I hope I can help other people the way they helped me.
When I get my computor up and running again I'll post how I put iGO 8 on my 16878 Omnitech. I posted this on my work computer.

It happened before this week and we thought it was solved.
I passed on this problem to the webmaster.

@ furry57
We notice you use a proxy. When you use your normal IP, can you post?

Edit:
probably the same.
I experience it too.

The not-able-to-post-matter should be solved.

My computor now will not let me on to your web site. I'll have to talk to my provider to help me fix the problem because I can get on here when I'm at work. Once thats fixed I'll write out what I did. And thanks again for all your help.

I asked the webmaster to check whether the error, causing you not being able to post, blocked your IP.
Check again later (from home and work).

EDIT : Your Ip's are NOT BLOCKED !! You should be able to browse NaviTotal without any problem.

I’ll try to remember all my steps to putting iGO on my 16878 Omnitech.
1. Install the NK.bin & DestinatorApp files onto 1 or 2 GB SD non-high capacity SD card ( it will depend how many maps and info you want I have just Canada on mine, and its 460 MB.
2. Format the SD card as FAT not FAT32.
3. Next click on DestiatorApps, go into Destinator Now delete all content from those files
4. Find the Navteq and Teleatlas you wish to use.
I used theses
Canada_83_NNG_2009.09_091022.3dl content\building
Canada_83_NQ_2009.Q4_100205.poi
Canada_83_NQ_2009.Q4_100428.fbl
Link ([Please Register or Login to download file] )

Rename the iGo.exe toDestinator.exe

Now this is what screwed me up. (look at #2 post)
Go into DestinatorApp/Destinator/sys.txt
Second line from the top it should read app="%SDCARD%/iGO8"
You have to add ; to the front of that line. So it will now reads ;app="%SDCARD%/iGO8" this is very important, ;app="%SDCARD%/iGO8" Notice the ;. The ";" it makes the compute (a rem statement in computer programming language). While the program is running, iGO8 checks the directory it's in.

At this point I was able to have run iGO8 on my Omnitech
