Postby Brillck » Tue May 27, 2014 7:58 am

Hello,

Does anybody know what fonts are used for those maps? I am useing a TTS voice and there are some letters who are not recognized by the voice. For examlpe:

The TTS voice said Oseaua insead of Șoseaua "Ș" is as SH (She is Șe) and "ț" (Pizza is Pița)

Thank you in advance

I don't think it's a font issue. You probably need a "phoneme" (.ph) file for your language.
Take a look here.

I never had phoneme files and the problem is with my TTS voice. I don`t know when i heard those letters for the last time but i heard them without phoneme.
Phoneme is for the non TTS voices i think...

No, phoneme files are pronunciation files for TTS.
If you are not satisfied with the voice, pick another TTS voice.

My TTS voice is working fine.

I just ask if there is a way to open a fbl map to change the font for romanian map

I am verry sure that is a font problem.

TTS=Text To Speech so if i have a text with some unknown characters the TTS voice does not recognise those letters...

Again: there is no relation between fonts and pronunciation!
If you don't like the answer given, you are welcome to go elsewhere but know that WRITING IN CAPITALS is considered as shouting and as rude!

I tested my TTS voice with a Tom Tom map and it's working fine.
The main question is if there is any software who i can edit the fbl file.
Thanks in advance!

Short answer: No. Don't mess with the map.
Report map errors to TomTom or HERE (Navteq) or whatever mapmaker made your map and hopefully they reply and correct the map.

Did you try this Romania map : maps-buildings-dem-poi-f82/eastern-europe-variety-suppliers-2013-t15114.html
