Few beginner questions!

Few beginner questions!

Postby DaYiM » Mon Jan 09, 2012 6:31 pm

Hello,
1. How to delete langs in keyboard list?
2. How to make the "speed limit" shows speed limit under 100KM/H?
3. When i reach Speed Cam by 1 KM; it starts beeping until i pass it;
How to make it beep only once or twice by 300km/h or 500km/h!
4. Are all all of my settings are saved in the profile?
and where i can find it? so that i can make a copy!
thanks & best regards.

A few details are needed before you can get any specific answers.
A) What program version are you running?
B) Have you loaded any 3rd party skins or modifications?
But that's just my opinion..I could be wrong.

1) Delete any language you don't want or need from {Primo}\content\lang
2) Go to Settings->Map Settings->Scroll to Current Speed-> Toggle On Then go to Settings->Sound and Warnings->Speed Warning Settings->Visual Warning->Tick Speed Limit always visible.
3) Currently there is not a way to specifically adjust speedcam warning distances within the interface. However, if you use a TTS-Pro voice as the warning method, you will get one advance warning and no beeping. The speedcam icon will remain on the map screen however, until you pass it.
4) Back up the {Primo}\Save folder to your PC. It contains all your settings, POI visibility, favorites, routes, etc. Basically everything you have done or setup. If you get a crash and settings are lost, or you need to reinstall for some reason, restore the Save folder, and all your settings will be restored too.
But that's just my opinion..I could be wrong.

3A) There is an old method of defining warning distances from iGo 8 and previous Primo versions. But honestly I have not tried it yet to confirm whether it works in Primo2 or not since some 'older' sys.txt entries seem to be ignored now. But you can try it and report back!

Put this in sys.txt:
[warning]
warn_distances="120:400,100:350,80:300,50:250,40:200"

Warnings are (or used to be) related to the vehicle speed at the time. In each set of numbers, the first is vehicle speed:the second is warning distance in meters.
So for instance, in the above example, if you were going 50KPH, you would get the warning 250 meters before the speedcam. You can adjust or add any sets of numbers you want---just be sure the whole line remains in quotes and each set has the colon between the numbers and the comma after the set (except the last entry, of course).

Edit: I don't know why the last number "200" appears to have a space in it in this post, but it should not be there.

RE: 2) That may be dependent on the mapset you are using...not ALL streets have the speed limit integrated into the map. If no speed limit shows, there may be no data in the map for that street. Nothing much you can do about that except try a different mapset or wait for the next map update. But some secondary/minor or rural roads may never have that data.

RE: 3) Yes, you would have to install and load a TTS Pro voice. Many are available here:
TTS Pro voices for Primo 1.2 and 2.0
The ones confirmed working with Primo 2 are marked as so in the info box.

Yes, please do..I would be very interested to know if that sys.txt entry still works.
But that's just my opinion..I could be wrong.

thank you very much,

* Regarding 1; even after I deleted the languages: it still appears in the menu:-
3681
How to delete them from the menu, my language is the LAST one!

* Regarding 2; in my country there is Ring Road St. and X-Ring Road St.
( that cross over Ring Road), these streets are major in my country;
i have noticed that speed limit shows for all of them except the ones
with 80km/h speed limits! so i thought the problem was with the
settings of not showing speed limits under 100km/h! not that it's data issue!

* Regarding 3; even after I copied all TSS-Pro files to my SD, the choice
Of TSS-Pro is still unchoseable!

* Regarding Warning Distance; i used this:-
[warning]
warn_distances="140:500,120:400,100:300"
and as you mentioned the warning distance is for my speed when i reach
the camera not the speed of the camera itself, & it works fine in Primo 2.

1 redo) You may have to delete the Save folder after making file changes..though I would think you should not have to for languages..and then start setup all over from the beginning.

2 huh) Then I have no idea. There is no setting within the normal settings that I know of to ignore speed limits below a certain value. Maybe you should post the contents of your current sys.txt and we can see if there is anything unusual or unnecessary in there.

3 TTS) after putting all the files in the proper place, you need to change TO the TTS voice in the Regional Settings before any other TTS Pro options become available.

Great. Glad to know that still works in sys.txt! Although I wonder if you will get any warnings at all below 100KPH (you can still get a speeding ticket at 50KPH) :)

I used the term "Regional" incorrectly. Sorry about that..I've been working with 6 or so navigation programs recently (including some Android varieties), and the terminology used by each is a scrambled mess in my brain. :crazy:

What is your Voice set to?
Settings->Sound and Warnings->Voice Language->{Tap}. From the choices, if installed correctly, you should see one or more voices with "TTS Voice.." in the right hand column near the scroll bar. Pick one of those. Do you hear a sample of the voice? If so, it could be correctly installed. Once you have the TTS voice selected, if you go Back to the Sounds and Warnings menu, you should see the TTS Pro (under Voice Language) no longer greyed out, and you will have many more options to choose from if you tap it...such as "Read Out Alert Points". If you tick that choice and then press the arrow next to it, you can choose which alerts you want the voice to say (including all the camera choices). If you tap Select All, then they all will be announced..just the voice, and no more repeating beeps. If that's what you want. Many other choices you can experiment with there and other places until you find the combination you like best.

You can try this solution, without using audio.
I have tested when I made the TTS Pro loquendo voices here at navitotal using the tts engine from chas521 (thanks a lot):usa::usa:

Go to the file:
Primo/content/voice/...
find your voice, and open it with double click with win.rar (do not unzip it), find the file dictionary.voice and open it with the notepad, the write the following (write !!!!!!!do not copy from here, then the voice will not work):
Caution speed camera ahead="Caution speed camera ahead"
Caution mobile speed camera ahead="Caution mobile speed camera ahead"
Caution traffic light camera="Caution traffic light camera"
Caution average speed camera ahead="Caution average speed camera ahead"
Caution traffic light ahead="Caution traffic light ahead"
Caution bus lane camera ahead="Caution bus lane camera ahead"
Caution dangerous railway crossing="Caution dangerous railway crossing"
Caution scholl zone ahead="Caution scholl zone ahead"
Caution town entry point="Caution town entry point"
Intimidation radar="Intimidation radar"
Caution toll ahead="Caution toll ahead"
Caution hospital="Caution hospital"
Caution fire Station ahead="Caution fire Station ahead"
Change taxi zone="Change taxi zone"
Caution give way="Caution give way"
Caution dangerous crossing="Caution dangerous crossing"
Caution speed breaker="Caution speed breaker"
Caution Children ahead="Caution Children ahead"
Caution dangerous Turn="Caution dangerous Turn"
