I just tried it and in the shortest time I was downloading at 1.2 Mb/sec. Are you sure you are using the right client, the correct settings, your IPdon't block torrents, ... ?

Perhaps you are not connecting to all of the available trackers for some reason (blocked by your ISP, etc). Add some that work for you.
I know you would like everything to be on MediaFire for your convenience, but if you want to take over the full time job of uploading, checking host links, and re-uploading when files get deleted by the host monthly, weekly, and sometimes daily, and then finding new hosts when your account gets suspended, I could arrange for you to do that.

I already use open dns, I can hit 1.1Mb/Sec on http downloads (soon to be 2.2Mb/Sec :D ) but torrents are no go, my fault for hammering them I suppose :(

I use both BitComet and uTorrent (for different reasons between the two for different things), and both work flawlessly.

Of course, it depends on the peers. I stoped d/l earlier and now I get 90-100-120 KB/sec.

That's certainly more normal for a large Torrent...I often peak high at the beginning and then slow down near the end as peers that have finished drop out and stop sharing.

Torrent speeds depend on the number of seeders and the parts offered and/or already downloaded.

My provider now (since 10 days) offers a 30Mbit line for everyone for the same price as before. Not that I ever reach that speed. When I am lucky, I get 1/3 of the speed he promises now (surfing). Strange: he offers more speed (up and down) - in theory - but for me nothing changes - in reality - so relatively I made no progress. On the contrary.
