Car cursor in IGO8

hi
please how do i change the (arrow) with a car. for es: in tomtom7 it is possible to have a blue or green or red car.
but in IGo8 i cant see how to change that.

Another 2 methods (I think these are similar to the method from Irinuca) but the authors are unknown to me

1.
Look in IGO8/data.zip/gfx for a file called car.mdl
Rename car.mdl in xxx.mdl and copy a new car.mdl in place (when there is none other like car_spaceschip. mdl)

This file should contain some .mdl car files (can't check) : [Please Register or Login to download file]


2.

Car Collection for iGO8 platform
Requirements: Pocket PC 2002, 2003 or 2003 SE Edition, WM5, Wm6 , PNA, with installed iGO8 Platform
Overview: Easy replace ARROW ICON with CAR ICON of your choice.

Features:
* More than 250 car of your choice
* All real view
* For now, only for PDA screen resolution 240x320, 320x240, 480x272
* Works only in 3D mode not in 2D, i am working on it.

Download Instructions:

1) Download file 3dAutos.zip on you computer.
2) Chose the xx.BMP file you like the best.
3) Rename the xx.BMP you like the best to 3dauto.bmp
4) Copy data.zip to your iGO8 folder, replace old data.zip
5) Got to Settings in iGo8, then to second screen Menu settings. and click on *3D Car Icon by Ecolab*
6) Restart the iGO8 program

* For 240x320 screen resolution
1) 3Dcar.zip put in folder \content\skin *do not unziped him*
2) copy 3dauto.bmp in folders \ui_igo8\240_320 and in folder \ui_igo8\240_320\night
if these folders doesn't exist just create it !

* For 320x240 screen resolution
1) 3Dcar320.zip put in folder \content\skin *do not unziped him*
2) copy 3dauto.bmp in folders \ui_igo8\320_240 and in folder \ui_igo8\320_240\night
if these folders doesn't exist just create it !

* For 480x2720 screen resolution
1) 3Dcar480.zip put in folder \content\skin *do not unzip him*
2) copy 3dauto.bmp in folders \ui_igo8\480_272 and in folder \ui_igo8\480_272\night
if these folders doesn't exist just create it !


You can chose The .BMP file you like, and change it when you like,
just replace 3dauto.bmp with new renamed file :)
Soon this will be available in more screen resolutions :)

Now edited that you can see your car icon an in free mode, not just on route mode :)
You can add custom CAR icon to any skin you prefer

hi
i downloade the 3Dautos zip and 3D car. now i need to find a data zip because the download is dead. i followed instraction on post 3. i want to had the car to my current skin.

hi
thanks to everuone for the help. However
i download few skin for my igo8 but all of them wont load up. perse error. i also tried to download 3D cars and installed as instruction but then i cant see any menu for 3D cars. my IGO8 version is igo8 8.3.5 march 16 2011 on a sd card with a Binatone 350. there is a defualt skin which i dont like. i use Kikker 3.2 skin. I would like to use a 3D car with Kikker 3.2 skin. please if anybody can explain in very simple words how to change the arrow with a car in the skin.

See post #8. Yes, I know it's the Dimka skin but it does work with cars. Don't think that the Kikker skin works with cars.
