The X-Series can be troublesome, You may need to flash an alternative ROM

In the guide are links to two software packages, Try iGO 8 (Not Primo) first, If you follow the instructions carefully, you can revert back easily

Maps for iGO 8 can be got from the iGO map section

All the links in the guide are direct, although to keep them out of reach of the kill bots you have to press the thanks button at the bottom of the post to reveal them.

What version of iGO8 did you try? TT for WinCE is not recommended.

Did you try MY version of iGO8. It works 110%. http://www.navitotal.com/showthread.php?6880-Igo8-March-5-2011

TT is NOT recommended for WinCE.

I think there is a difference between being there and being recommended.
What Chas521 and most people who know is referring to is that TT7 WinCE is old. Very old.
And abandoned by TomTom. Trouble will surface more and more for people trying to run it. Especially trying to find up to date maps that work.
iGo 8.3x or Primo are far easier to work with on a WinCE device.
But that's just my opinion..I could be wrong.

You will need either Active Sync (XP and below) or Windows Mobile Device Center (Vista and above) but Binatone's connect at the slowest available baud rate, so copying a map takes ages and will probably fail when activesync decides to synchronize with the device, use a separate card reader, also fast activate will not work over an activesync connection so you will not be able to patch Tomtom maps
