Postcodes go in the city/town box in this format AA11 1AA Note the space

Thanks for that, was looking for a postcode box:doh:

I used to use a Tom Tom a few years back for work, was driving hundreds of miles a day then.

The competition seem to have progressed a lot since 2007, I have got a binatone as it will be cheap to replace if it gets dropped.

I will be using it on my motorbike, just need some way of attaching it now:)

The latest version of iGO Primo is here

The host for the UK and ROI content pack is down, try again later or go here, Unfortunately you'll need to download the whole of Europe, but each country is a separate file so you can just have UK and ROI on your device.

The SHELL.ini file tells the device to run something other than the original software, It is just a text file with the path to the new software inside...

\SDMMC\Primo2\Primo.exe <-Check path is correct. SDMMC is what your device calls the SD card, Open the card on your PC using a card reader and copy the Primo2 folder (with the Primo.exe inside it, not another folder) onto it.

Save the file as SHELL.ini, make sure there is no .txt on the end and place it the root of the SD card.

Restart your device and if you've done it correctly the new software will start when you tap Navigation, If not then check the path inside is correct and that the filename is correct.

Worked first time and thanks.

Now just need to get upto date UK maps

Hi all, if anyone reading this thread. Found you guys the other night when browsing for info on F430.
Patience please!
I am running Win CE Net 6.0 Core Version.
I managed to download ButNT12.rar and Pri24BD.rar and extracted both to a folder on my desktop where I now have 3 folders -
building, Memory Fix and MobileNavigator and 2 files Readme.txt and Shell.ini.
I also downloaded and extracted NTQ_2012.Q1 , and copied the UK , Irl fbl files to another location on the desktop.
I copied the MobileNavigator folder and the Shell.ini file to the SD card.
I copied the fbl files to the SD card MobileNavigator/Content/Maps folder and inserted it in the F430.
On booting, I selected Navigation and the Binatone software started.
I have double-checked the shell.ini file and it is correct.
Any ideas what I might be doing wrong?
N.B. I found 2 zipped files inside the MobileNavigator folder - branding.zip and data.zip

Is it a SD card or a SDHC card?

SDHC may not be supported on this device.

Hi Fatboyfun, didn't think I'd get to talk with you directly, thanks.
It's an Integral 2GB Micro SD card.
Thanks

All you need on the card is the mobilenavigator folder and the shell.ini file, ie, just extract the pri24bd.rar archive to an empty sd card.

Worry about content later, just get primo to start first.

You can check if the sd card is compatible by connecting the device to the PC with a USB cable and browse the device contents, (you may need to install activesync) look for a folder called SDMMC.

Now I know why you are held in such reverence!
Ok, all up and running.
Now what data files do you recommend besides the fbl files?
Thanks

thanks, got allotherstuff and downloading NiceTea at the moment.
I'll post again probably at the weekend when I have had a chance to try it out on the road.
wizard!

You may need to use the memory fix...

If it crashes with an out of memory error then use another sd card and use the shell.ini and folder within the memory fix folder like you did with the primo application, this will set the memory to the maximum available, you will only need to do this once.

Hi Faboyfun. Worked a treat until I tried to load more than just IRL files.
Navigation runs Binatone software every time.
Folders and files became corrupt, names now appear as symbols rather than letters.
Eventually I noted SD card appearing as 937MB although it is 2GB.
Several attempts at formatting with different formatters failed unitl I used Easus Disk Partition Home.
Found 1 partition of 970+MB and unallocated space of another 930+MB.
Deleted partition and re-partitioned to full size - now got 1.83 GB card,
Re-loaded IRL + UK on my office PC built-in card reader and working fine.
At home now and my old card reader won't recognise 2GB card!
I should have copped this from another thread which mentioned the possibilty of an out-of-date card reader...
Out to buy an up-to date card reader! Otherwise everyting terrific!
Thanks again!!!!!!

I generally use SanDisk cards, but I have a cheap supermarket card reader, cost about £5, I've never had a problem with corruption, be careful about switching off the device as turning off while in a write operation can cause corruption, I let primo shut down the device itself on loss of power.
