Becker active 50 scheme on Primo 2.0

Postby nabilone » Thu Dec 29, 2011 5:28 am

Hi,
Is it possible to use Becker Active 50 (9.6.1.200490) scheme with the new Primo 2.0 (9.6.2.209584), as both are "9.6" versions?

"Scheme" from the {Main Folder}\content\scheme folder, yes. Those are just color instructions for background, roads, etc, and will work in just about any version of Primo (including Becker Active/Ready 50).
Anything else related to the overall "SKIN" (General interface appearance, menus, etc), then no, probably not. At least not without a lot of editing work.
There are a couple new skins for Primo 2.0 (just made available) though. You can get them here:

But that's just my opinion..I could be wrong.

In fact, the version of becker I have, there is no "scheme folder".
I would like to know if it's possible to use the default scheme (color, road, bkg) of Becker a50 with primo 2
If yes, from where can I take these default schemes (day and night)?

Becker does it a little bit differently. Their schemes are buried in data.zip.
Open up data.zip with winrar or similar, navigate to ui_becker\scheme.
In there you see folders such as 'day', 'day-dark', 'night', etc. In each of these folders is "color.ini" which is the actual scheme. Drag the folders you want out of Winrar (Copy, do not Move). Save them somewhere. If you then open the color.ini, under the category [INFO], you will see name="whatever"--this is how the scheme is identified within Primo. So give each a unique name like "Becker Day" or something, save the color.ini, rename it's folder to anything you like, zip it, and put it in {Primo}\content\scheme, with all the other scheme zips. Then start up Primo, and see if you can choose your newly created scheme. Might work, might not. Report back when you find out.
But that's just my opinion..I could be wrong.

This is exactly what I already did:).
But unfortunately, it craches when I try to choose this "new scheme".

It would not surprise me that Becker does their Theme/Schemes a bit different too..in such a way as they may be incompatible with everything except Becker software. But there are scores of Schemes for Primo 1.x which should work just fine.
You can start here:

Maybe you will find something you like. If not, Google or the forum search here is your friend..."Primo schemes".
