Sorry eskro, probably my bad. My device is 480_272 and it worked just fine. I couldn't open up the data.gro in readable English so I assumed 800_480 worked. Maybe you can "force" it by making the following sys.txt entries:

[interface]
show_exit=1
resolution_dir="480_272"
width=480
height=272

[rawdisplay]
driver="GDI"
class="landscape"
highres=0
screen_x=800
screen_y=480

or even this:

[interface]
show_exit=1
resolution_dir="480_272"
vga=0

[rawdisplay]
highres=0
screen_x=480
screen_y=272
stretch=1

Remember to delete the "save" folder each time. Also save the sys.txt before exiting.
If it ain't broke don't fix it!

Please do NOT post any thanks. Simply press the hand icon with the "thumb up" which is the thank you button.

You need a dedicated skin for each resolution. Search for Freddysam My Amigo Skin (v40 was the last version he made), he had skins for all the different resolutions. I am using his 480x272, it is the best skin for Amigo.

Probably a skin is the best solution. Amigo is not designed to support 800*480.
You could change your data.gro, if you can find one supporting 800*480 (or 400*240) but I have the impression that died Amigo links are not easy replaced. Questions about Amigo are also rare. Very rare.
In other words, Amigo is out, Primo is in.

I can check if I can provide a data.gro. But not now, this evening at home.
Do you still want met to look for a data.gro?

The question is not why you googled, but why you did not check our skin section? What you want is there, links are alive!!

http://www.navitotal.com/forums/showthread.php?1263-sandysand-fixed-freddysam-s-skin-for-Amigo

What would be more simple ? ;)

@eskro

UPSS and I are very happy with Amigo. UPSS and Miomoshe [if I remember correctly] worked very hard with freddysam to produce a winner that I still think is the best nav to date. Glad to hear that it's working. I'm sure you'll be very happy.

@ chas, you are 100%. I have been using Amigo practically since day one with Freddysam's skin and I don't have a compelling reason to switch to Primo even though I have both installed on my C320. Also, I don't care for any Primo skins that "think" I am driving in Europe unless they come with a free BMW or a Mercedes.

i like the fact that AMIGO is really simple and clean!

like its not bloated by 8987 different settings and stuff...

its pretty straight forward!

but uhm, is there something u cant do with AMIGO that u can with iGO8?

like the Panoramic view when im a on a road for more than lets say 3KM?

thanks

Except for the simpler and more intuitive interface all iGO8 command should work with Amigo, you just have to experiment with it. I really never used extensively iGo8, I migrated almost 2 years ago straight from MioMap 3.3 to Amigo.
