Alert point warning distances, audio and visual. Primo 2

OK, I give up Been trying to reduce the warning distance spoken. ie. School zone ahead (shows at 600M. I want it to say it at 200M)
Ive played with the distance settings in , sys.txt, save.ini. in the DW skin(s) but nothing seems to be changing it.
I had a look at ui_igo9 in data.zip but no distances in there.
What have I missed?

Is it only the non-speedcam alert points you are having trouble adjusting?
What kind of base data files (*.txt, *.spc, etc) are you using?

As far as I can see both types BUT I havent removed one srt to see if there is a relationship....yet.

I was hoping this in sys.txt (example) would of overridden but no :(

Have you experimented with something like the following (with no different categories--all of them deleted) to see if it made any difference?

warn_distances="120:200,100:200,80:200,50:200,40:200"

I think the last number should be 200 and not 2 00?

Correct. But somehow, for reasons unknown, whenever I make such a post (there have been numerous times), the last set of numbers always has that odd space.
It's an eternal mystery that may never be solved.

The warn distances="0:500" it means :
The price 0 is your speed and the second price 500 is the distance from the Proximate Alert.
so if you have 0-200km/h speed then TTS Pro will announce the alerts before 500m regardless of your speed because you have set the price of speed >0.

If you like for example all the dangerous railway crossing to be announced if your speed is more than
100 km/h and also you want the announced to be before 150m from the proximate alert then you must set this:
warn_distances="100:150"
Please, note that if your speed is less than 100Km/h the TTS Pro will announce to you nothing!!

Furthermore I don't think that you must change all the lines and set something like this:
warn_distances=150:2000,140:1600,130:1400,120:1200,110:1000,100:800,90:600,80:500,70:400,60:300

This is very good to use for the speedcameras because depending of your limit and car distance from the speedcamera the TTS Pro will announce the speedcamera.

But for the proximate alert if you set :
[speedcam_category:8]
activated_spoken_type=speech
activated_speech="Caution dangerous railway crossing"
;overspeed_spoken_type=1
warn_distances=150:2000,140:1600,130:1400,120:1200,110:1000,100:800,90:600,80:500,70:400,60:300

it means that if your speed is more than 140km/h the TTS Pro will start to announce you the dangerous railway crossing before 1.6Km !

You can modife each warn_distance one by one.

Ill have a play over the weekend.

In your TTS Pro Simon, (Voice_TTS-Pro-UK-Simon-zervdim.zip) in the TTS pro settings page when setting alerts it has a Distance in the box of 700m. This is common to all Simon TTS Pro settings.
Ive been trying to see where you set that as I want to reduce to 300. but no luck.

You mean the distance of 700 m in dimka skin?
This is by default in dimka skin and don't have to do with the TTS Pro voices.
But also if you like to reduse from 700m to 300m then you can go to dimka skin, open it with win.rar (do not unzip it!!!) and find the file customized.lua, search for 700 and then change the distance from 700 to 300 .
Save the changes to file customized and wait two seconds to save the changes to dimka zip files.
Note: I haven't tested but I think it will work.

OK Thats woked to a point. Some cams etc now refresh at 300m intervals.
Somewhere else must have an influence on the warnings, with or without TTS Pro warnings enabled.
Some times it will say, after 805m speed and redlight camera, after 82m school zone.
Buggered if I can find where its set :(

I used TTS Pro for 7 months with dimka skin and I have never hear : after 82m school zone.
I used loquendo TTS Pro or nuance Pro.
Have you delete the file audio? (Primo/audio )
If you use in your sys.txt something like this:
[speedcam_category:8]
activated_spoken_type=speech
activated_speech="Caution dangerous railway crossing"
;overspeed_spoken_type=1
warn_distances="0:500"

then you don't need any audio file in the root of Primo and the TTS Pro will announce you the proximate alert before 500m because your speed is >0.

Please check: Mainmenu/settings/sound&warnings/Alertpointsettings/Audiowarnings
and for audio warnings select Primo sound and not Ultrasound(iGO8).
