Way to convert???

Way to convert???

Postby skyham » Tue Jun 15, 2010 6:53 pm

Is there a way to convert NT to a Non-NT version of City Navigator North America? My Honda motorcycle's built in GPS uses Garmin data which they no longer choose to support. Last I found was City Navigator 2009, and I understand that is the last one to be produced with non-NT maps. Same would apply to my old 2610 GPS which still works just fine. Both put their data on a CF card. Any sharp code converters need a challenge?

I thought NT and non-NT were just compression formats, but the data itself was the same from Navteq. I take it that's not true? Now to find a GPS unit with future updatable maps which is plug compatible with the one in the Goldwing which can still use the stock display, audio system, and handlebar controls.

You can use some of newer mobiles, like nokia e72 isn't so expensive, or n97 :) it's more expensive, it's nice, you have mobile - smartphone, plus very good navigation, cause e72 has very good signal - good gps reciever..

Good luck

I have the 4.5 on the bike (haven't updated to 4.6 yet), and no longer use the 2610 - too big in today's environment anyways.
