NUVI 760 - Maps for Canada

Postby naviboy » Fri Feb 16, 2018 11:13 pm

Shortly shall be travelling to British Columbia and Alberta.

Previously I've used my TomTom and found it sluggish.

So this time I'm trying my son's NUVI 760 with a SD card.

Can anyone suggest which map I need to mount on a sd card as I am totally a novice with Garmin having used TomTom.

thanks
TomTom One XL - 5.5128 BL - 9.541 SE NC - UK + ROI 1105_11755 & Canada-Alaska_1085_11364- 4GB SD Card

Look here: viewtopic.php?f=88&t=20453.

If you don't want to mess around too much just get the unlocked image file for North America, put it in a Garmin folder on SD name only gmapsupp.img [x:\Garmin\gmapsupp.img]. Make sure the 760 has latest firmware or it may not be able to see a file above 2 GiB.

Of you want a smaller map only of CAN, get the MS version to load to your PC but you'll need to unlock it before you can just send a partial img to the SD card.
