Nuvi 1370 takes longer to start-up with power cable

Postby william50 » Thu Dec 07, 2023 9:25 pm

When I start-up my Nuvi 1370 using its internal battery it starts in less than ten seconds.

Though when the power cable is connected to the Nuvi and car power it takes upwards of thirty seconds to start.

Why is this?

Hope you are using a Genuine Garmin Vehicle Power cable.
It's quite possible as the device checks if it needs to go into charge mode or PC mode.

I'm using an aftermarket charge cable so that must be the problem.
Using my charge cable the computer icon does show up on start-up like it does when I use the data cable. But it then goes into charge state after about thirty seconds.

So you are saying the Genuine Garmin charger cable does not do this?

That's right Garmin Vehicle Power cables are wired specifically for Garmin devices.
The cable you have is not recognized properly & the device thinks it is a USB cable when it is plugged in.
