Mrs has a Garmin Nuvi 255w, which she probably only uses half a dozen times a year, i have looked about for a map update as we have had a few new roads in our local area.

Any way i am looking for uk 2013.41 map, the updates ive found here before have been a .img file about 233K which i have copied to sd card gone in to settings selected map and a big thanks to the uploader.

The maps now seem to be 2.9G or 1.98G and be of all Europe the Nuvi she has the memory available total on the device is 1.8G and the sd card is a 1G so this doesnt look like they will fit.

Two things :-

1 Am I looking in the right place to find just the uk map ?
2 Do I have to do something extra with the downloaded 1.98G file ? if can somebody point me in the right direction i will be grateful.

PS i have wince device that runs igo8 much easier :-)

Two solutions here. Either get a larger SD card [they're pretty cheap now] or there's a way to cut-down the maps using a program here in Garmin. Someone will post how.
