how to load map on sd card

Hi , I have a nuvi 260, has north america on internal drive , trying to put europe on SD card.
I create New folder garmin on card and put the europe img map in there, but when i put it in the device u, it is not reconized, any help please

You can't use the full image on your device - only img up to 2GB are possible on nuvi 2X0.

So how do I load a part of europe , I need spain france and italy on the card?
read posts and tutorials and cannot get it

There are also some partial map-images in the offer thread (e.g. West Eu in post #1).

If you don't find some fitting version, you have to use the MapSource/gmap version (e.g. Garmin City Navigator® Europe NT 2012.40 - MapSource/gmap - unlocked) to make your own map image on PC.
