Garmin doesn't use SD card map

Thu Apr 17, 2014 5:28 pm

Hi guys,

Since I'll be going on a holiday to Thailand I tried installing the Thailand City Navigator map on my garmin nüvi 255 software version 7.60. I've added the GMAPSUPP.img in the Garmin map on the SD-card. When I start the GPS I can see the Thailand map and the Europe map but for some reason I cannot select Thailand as a country. I can only select other European countrys. Thailand doesn't show up in the list.

I am guessing this must be something stupid but I can't seem to find how to do it. A couple years before I was able to do it this way. Please give me some advice.

Regards,

Veek

Do you want to go from Europe to Thailand by car? ;)
Use simulation mode, as long as you are not in Thailand.

That would be a nice thing to do. I'd go every weekend. :-)

I figured it doesn't matter if I was in Thailand or in Europe it should still show up in the list of available countries.
I've put it in simulatormode and I still cannot select Thailand as a country. I even moved the map from the SD card and put it on the GPS itself using JaVaWa but still the same.

Could it be because I installed a dual language map perhaps?

Nobody else got any suggestions? I've tried all I can think off. I even changed my basemap to 5.01 and it doesn't work. Ik can see the Thailand map with mapinfo but I cannot select the country, not in gps simulator or in normal working mode. Please give me some advice. I'll be leaving in a month and want this problem resolved.

Thanks.
