Hello Volks, how do I install maps on the DriveSmart 65?
It won't work via wifi, it stops for 2 minutes and throws an error... via Garmin Express it starts activating maps and throws an error. I don't have anything on the device or on the card. Only a couple of folders of 1 megabyte each.

have you checked the firewall settings for the express app ?

Try this, copy the garmindevice.xml from the Garmin folder on the device, unplug the SD card from your device and make a folder called Garmin on the SD card then place the copy of the garmindevice.xml in it. Unplug your DS 65 from your PC, plug the SD card with the copy of the garmindevice.xml (clone )into your PC and see if Garmin Express will work without errors.

Do that but not working.
i install city navigator ntu europe with mapinstall on sd card.when i go to map...no map.wifi update stuck 2 minutes till end

Your device should have multiple files and folders like this

i have just 100mb files
i deleted internal storage.
where can i download all that folders and files and copy to internal storage ?

Did you delete the .system folder a Hidden folder

Have you ever updated it with Garmin express ?
If Garmin Express find the device you must have a garmindevice.xml

i bought before couple days.someone formated int.storage.everything work but dont have map.error on wifi update and garmin express.

the files in the folders of the directory .system are what we need to see.
I've check out your garmindevice.xml and it records all the files were there ,and the device's firmware is up to date. I've compared using your garmindevice.xml devices with serial numbers in your sequence and they work with Garmin Express this points to your specific device has lost its map subscription .Call Garmin Europe for help.

First of all, I would like to thank you for your interest and help. I bought the device second-hand and used, as far as I could see, everything is lifetime for this navigation. I can install maps for Europe via MapInstall, but the device simply does not see it. The man who sold it to me says that it worked in Germany without problems. I wrote to Garmin technical service, so we will see.I am simply convinced that there are missing files in the device's internal memory itself.

Using the clone method (copying the garmindevice.xml to an empty SD card /USB thumb drive does not have any files.
I've compared using your devices garmindevice.xml with serial numbers in your sequence and they work with Garmin Express this points to your specific device has lost its map subscription.
Try it yourself ,just adjust the device ID by 1 on your garmindevice.xml and it works, this proves your specific device has an update problem.
Unfortunately these files will not work on your device.

Also there seems to be an attempt to use Drive and DriveSmart 60-70 (2268) firmware on this device, this DS 65 has a HWID of 3065 and has encrypted firmware, what has been attempted could completely brick it.

There are many inconsistencies with this device's history.
It is missing the gmapbmap.img this is the base map and is fundamental in displaying maps.
