I noticed a problem on my Garmin 1200 GPS.
The GPS date is incorrect...

According to my research, the problem is due to the age of my GPS (around 2009).

I've updated the GPS firmware via Garmin Express, but that doesn't solve the problem.

I still can't get the right time and date on my Nüvi 1200...

I've tried various actions (soft reset, hard reset, update with Garmin Express,...) but no solution works.
The time setting is "auto" and the "gmaptz.img" file is up to date (via Garmin Express).

Is there a solution to force time/date synchronization or to set it manually via a hidden parameter?

Should I let the battery discharge completely (impossible to remove it to reset the GPS clock)?

I've managed to rectify date issues with this 25yr old Garmin EOW program, worked on gpsmap 60, 60CSx and 196. It worked with my windows 10 laptop but only through the gps serial connector converted to usb and not direct through a usb connection. Good Luck
