On a previous thread Sucro posted the following message to answer my question. I cannot respond on that thread for whatever reason so, I had to start a new thread. This is Sucro's message to me;

No no, you are wrong, you don't have to change GMAPSUPP.IMG to gmapsupp.unl, just copy-paste that file GMAPSUPP.IMG to your device-internal memory in garmin folder, or if you want maps on SD CARD, make folder Garmin, and copy-paste inside GMAPSUPP.IMG, use keygen from section software to generate key for your maps, for MAP ID use number 411, and that generate key copy-paste in NOTEPAD document, and save that document like GMAPSUPP.UNL (select for type file - ALL, when you save GMAPSUPP.UNL). You'll need CARD ID for unlocking maps on your SD CARD, you'll see CARD ID when you put locked image in garmin folder on your sd card, and put it in you garmin device, and go to tools\settings\ about, and look there for CARD ID, that ID you'll have to put in keygen 1.5 for generating unlock key...

Just follow described procedure for unlocking maps in thread where you can find JM keygen 1.5 for unlocking maps...

So to make sure I understand the procedure of installation I do the following

1. Download Jet Mouse' Key Gen
2. Find my devices CARD ID# by going to tools/settings/about on the device
3. Using Map ID 411 and the CARD ID# generate an unlock code
4. Copy and paste the unlock code into notepad and name it GMAPSUPP.UNL
5. For installation on the device navigate to the c:\Garmin folder on the device and copy and paste the GMAPSUPP.IMG file into it
6. For installation on the SD card insert card into the device or computer, navigate to it, and create a Garmin folder and install GMAPSUPP.IMG into it

If someone could please verify that the above procedure is correct I would appreciate it. If this is not the procedure please correct me.

Yes you have to put that informations in JM keygen, CARD ID and MAP ID:411 for that map .IMG file. Yes name GMAPSUPP.UNL notepad doc where you previously copied unlock key, and don't forget to select at saving named file for type "ALL", all you can do this give name to file GMAPSUPP.UNL and save it like .txt file for example, GMAPSUPP.UNL.txt, and just after creating this file delete .txt extension, your OS will ask you "are you sure you want to change extension of file" , accept that, and you have gmapsupp.unl ok created..

5. just copy-paste manually thag gmapsupp.img in garmin folder your SD CARD, no installation :), and in same folder copy-paste GMAPSUPP.UNL file. that's all...

Device will not prompt you about some unlock code, GMAPSUPP.UNL is that "code" - license file for your maps ;).

Ok, i'll merge this thread when you finish adding your maps on sd card and unlocking them!

Sucro,

I finally bought an SD card to install the Bluewater Maps to. I copied those maps into a folder called "Garmin" on the SD card. I can copy the license unlock code but it WILL NOT past into that folder. What am I doing wrong?

EDIT: Ok, I realized that I needed to copy the modified GMAPSUPP.UNL file (sans .txt). I placed this file into the "Garmin" folder on the sd card. I placed the card into the unit and now I cannot find the new maps? Where will I find them?

everything is ok i see.....
are you generate right button of Jetmouse (there is two button and map generate bottom)

Yes, I have generated the unlock code using "custom map set" and Map ID 411 (for the Bluewater Charts - USA). I transfered the maps directly to the SD card via the plug in port on my computer. Could that be the issue?

Fri Jun 25, 2010 8:11 pm

where you get that mapID are you sure it is right one, open GMAPSUPP.IMG with gmaptool and push info button and check FID number

and if you have GMAPSUPP.IMG garmin internal memory try rename it GMAPSUP2.IMG

I transfered the maps directly to the SD card via the plug in port on my computer. Could that be the issue?

That is OK

I got the Map ID # from Sucro. gmaptool indicates the following map HXUS039R-US (11.0) and the FID number is 411 which is what I used.

I downloaded this map from HERE and it is unlocked version (post is now correct)

So if you use same version remove UNL file

Be a bit carefully in using this map, cause it is version 11 from 2009 - the recalled maps by GARMIN!
