Accidental erase of Garmin folder in nuvi30

Hello everyone!

I have a nuvi30 and I just accidentally erased the ".\Garmin" folder in its root. Pretty stupid!!!

I know it contained the ".\Garmin\JCV" folder (and its JCV files which I have replaced) and also 1 other small file which I have no idea what it was or does nor how to get it back (forget Recycle Bin).

Could someone help me out?

did you tried to updated with garmin express? it should create the missing file of garmindevice.xml

GarminDevice.xml is re-created by the device on every boot cycle. Sometimes if you've deleted it or re-formatted the file system it's in Garmin as "GarminDevice.temp" and if so just rename the extension to .xml.

JCV files go in .System not Garmin folder in nuvi 30. Perhaps the OP is referring to the microSD card where JCV files are indeed in JCV folder stored in Garmin root folder.
