Nitrogen problem : no right channel

Sat Jun 01, 2013 7:00 am

I use Chinese generic 7' WinCE 6 GPS as in-dash device, everything works as it should except for Nitrogen - it plays left channel only. Native player (with awful UI) works OK, other applications are in full stereo. I tried starting both Nitrogen and native player (hoping native player to "unlock" right channel) with native on pause but it resulted in losing right channel in native player. After reset it comes back.
Anybody has any idea?

Unless you got a bad download of Nitrogen, I can't see why it would not work using stereo while your other audio program is fine. You just may have to live with the UI.

Forgot to say that it works in stereo via FM transmitter. I extracted it from MioPocket, that was single version for WinCE, all other are for WM5 (like the one from the link in previous post).

Give coreplayer or tcpmp a try, if the problem still exists it could be a problem with the audio driver within wince.

Tried NaviPlayer and MortPlayer, they sound OK. Tried different version of Nitrogen - no right channel. Is there some kind of balance control in WinCE? I couldn't find it, there is volume slider in Audio Settings in Control Panel but no balance.

On some devices the little utility VolumeX.exe gives a balance control, however I've used nitrogen on windows mobile and I remember it was only ever beta or alpha software before it was abandoned, this leads me to think it's a specific issue with your device and nitrogen and I don't think it can be resolved, which is unlucky.

Solved! According to Russian 4pna forum, it is known bug in Nitrogen - on some devices, checking "Use System Volume" causes one channel to mute. Uncheck and restart solved it. Some guy from that forum even made fixed version, if anybody needs it.
Anyway, thanks for supportive responses.

As simple as that!
