Postby vlaius » Mon Sep 24, 2012 8:58 am

Hi there!

In first of all, I would like apologize for my English.

I have GPS navigator with 3G/GPRS module.

I have the follow problem:
Then external power is off, navigator automaticaly gone to sleeping mode.
In some time later it awake by himself and working till end of the battery.

So, that can I do to prevent self-awaking without external power?

Is it programmed to automatically contact to the Internet at a certain time? Then change the settings.
Or switch off (not sleeping mode)

Goood idea! :)

But I need PNA in sleepning mode.

I think about script on RunOnPowerOn, who will check, if the power on or not, In case not powered, "Go to sleep, baby!"

If using a data connection, it is possible that the module itself does not 'sleep' and is pinged periodically by the server...waking up the device.
If this is an external module, try unplugging it from the device..or if internal, disable before unit sleeps.
But that's just my opinion..I could be wrong.

Runonpoweron is only executed when the device is switched on, it can't tell when the device is in suspend.

On windows mobile the device must be woken up from suspend to do any type of unattended network activity, try putting the device in flight mode before suspend.

It's internal module. Now I try to find process, responsible for GSM/GPRS and I wish to kill him... I'm looking for it.
