However I do believe that jhen is right when assuming that the available cr@cked version of Clarion Igo is not compatible with our device. So I would also like to point out , that I would be enourmously gratefull if someone could play around with jhen's version in order to get it running with available maps.

By the way, is it correct, that our OEM version is a R3 version?

Let me try to explain. Although the program I gave you above might be for another Clarion device, you could try editing the sys.txt to your device from the one indicated. Or you could try using the sys.txt in your post here. I don't have your device in front of me so it's you that has to do the work here. Just know that all paths must lead to the program so your device can find it. As long as your device is WinCE, it probably can handle the cracked program. R3 refers to the content being acceptable not your particular device.

EDIT: You might try this. Edit jhen's sys.txt from his device to your device name. Download my iGO8 program from http://www.navitotal.com/showthread.php?6880-Igo8-March-16-2011 Using jhen's upload, replace [not just overwrite] the data.zip and the license folder with both from my program. Delete the save folder if there is one. Completely shutdown your device, wait a few seconds and re-start and cross your fingers. You may need your entire sys.txt in place of jhen's.

Whatever you do, do not format the flash drive! Clarion data might be on it (I don't know) and you may turn your device completely useless. Unless someone knows how to repair the latter. I don't.

It is a possibility that the flash drive (thus the Clarion) was removed from your PC while data still was being written to the flash drive. Then the file allocation table (FAT - this holds the contents of the flash drive, the index) was't renewed or not finished. This is a pure guess. To check and repair this, on the command prompt, type: chkdsk e: /f (where e: is the external drive, the flash disk). That should take a few minutes and if all is good, you are okay.

Hi mate,

Were you able to use the the File extractor in post #2? Just make sure that you at least format a new SD card before extracting the files in the root of the SD card. It should copy all the files in the Flashdrive of your unit if I am not mistaken. With the SD card still inplace you should be able to navigate into WinCE.

As always being said by our moderators, we should always backup before making any changes on our units. Hope you did follow their advise.

Hi.

I juat got today brand new Clarion VX709A with NP509 navigation box.
O the box I have sticker with Updated V3.0
Q3 2011 Navteq map.

How I can get latest maps?
Is it worth to keep that radio or is better to return to distributor?
I got the whole 3 pieces set for $700.00

After reading all 10 pages looks like is better for me use TomTom than the Clarion unit...

Regards

Robert

Honestly spoken, I do believe there are far better devices for the money.

Why should you have 2 pieces if you could also have all in one? Further more I just can't believe that someone sells a brand new set with outdated maps. As long as we have not solved the use "use maps from any source" issue, you will most likely have to spend another $100 for fresh maps. Or did you at least get a voucher?

If not, I would return the device! Maybe you would want to have a look at Icartech-Devices running on Android.

Does anyone could give a "flash disk" dump from your WinCE? I think I accidentally deleted more files than needed to perform the update process... I have in my "flash disk" just the Clarion folder...

Hi,

Just wanted to check what you are trying to do. Are you doing a system update or just a map update and from what country?

I was trying to update the maps from 2012 to 2014. This maps are from Latin America but it was getting a little messy then I decided to delete all files from "My flash disk" unit and put the new ones... after that my GPS never started automatically anymore... To use the GPS (Clarion version) I have to put the SD card in the slot and access windows CE and then double click the Clarion.exe located at the Clarion folder in "My flash disk" unit... I just want to see/receive all the files that are located in your "My flash disk" drive.

Send me your email add and I will try to make a zip file of the base data on my unit and hope everything would go fine for you.

Good thing is you can still access WinCE. All you need to do then is copy and paste the data in your flash drive.

I have the same NP509 CCB509 and VX709 parts in my kia sorento 2010y car. I have change the files, and the gps do the same things what the post #15 in this topic.
I read all the posts, and probed for a while. But nothing.
My only software combination is the Primo 2 torrent file, but always reboot, and on the screen: The 480x234 skin not found or not compatible.
Please can Someone send me a SD Card files?
