All all, Could really do with some help in identifying which sat nav this is. and if possible find some updated maps for it or install different software.
Any help you can offer me would be great.

Yours Dave

It looks like a generic Chinese clone with software from Astrob software (the people behind the terrible turbodog)

Is the software on a sd card or in the internal memory? Are you able to browse the files?

Depending on the specs either igo 8 or primo should work

Hi there, thank you for your reply.
When i plug the sat nav in via usb cable, i get presented with two drives. g: which is there onboard memory (21.6MB) has one folder called "__TFAT_HIDDEN_ROOT_DIR__"and in there is a videoplayer folder and 4 files "gpspara0, 1, 2, 3.bin. the second drive is the 1gb sd card which has two folders. "maps" and "mobilenavigator" in that folder there's a mobilemavigator.exe file which im assuming is a windows ce executable. not sure tho while windows ce this device used tho 5 or 6.

This is a classic 'MobileNavigator' device...

To run other software you need to replace the MobileNavigator\MobileNavigator.exe with another exefile, what you can run depends on it's specification...

Use a different SD card (Max 2GB, Not SDHC) and create a MobileNavigator folder and place the files from this link inside it, Rename the .exe file and .mscr file to MobileNavigator.exe and MobileNavigator.mscr respectively.

Reboot device and start navigation as you normally would...

Open the newly created .txt file and post the contents here...

This gives us an idea of what this device is capable of!

A basic version of Primo 2.0 may work, maybe with TTS.
Tomtom Navigator 7 may work, It's picky about what it runs on.
iGO 8 should work if the above fails...

All of the above can use the latest maps!

As this device is similar to Binatone's, use the software from this guide

You won't need to create a SHELL.ini, just rename the folder and filename.exe to MobileNavigator and MobileNavigator.exe

The Bluetooth error must be something unique to the device, It's probably in the internal memory but is tied into the original app in some way, which isn't compatible with another app. (Astrob software don't produce software of the highest quality lol) In the main menu is there any options for Bluetooth?

I will PM you the link for the UK maps shortly...

EDIT: I already sent you the link.

There is no Bluetooth.exe included with Primo 2 and the WinCE desktop is usually not included with these devices, however you can use Total Commander to explore the file system.

We may need to kill the device menu when Primo starts, This will need some investigation...

Other than the Bluetooth error does Primo work as expected?

Use a SD card reader, It's much faster!

There's some things we can try to find out a bit more about this device, but i'll need to prepare some scripts and apps to do this, and i've been up since half-five this morning, so i have no brain capacity left lol

Check back tomorrow evening...

On your device, rename MobileNavigator.exe to Primo.exe
Download and extract this archive 4218
Copy the four files into the MobileNavigator folder on the device

Test...

This is a little script to kill the Bluetooth.exe process before Primo starts, Hopefully before it can show the error.
