Newbie here and unsure what to do

Mon Mar 24, 2014 4:12 pm

Hi folks :)

I bought a double din in-car DVD/sat nav/radio blah blah for my car last year and have just got it fitted as I had to get rewired to work OK. I don't know what make or model it is but I do know its got Nav N Go Igo8 maps and seems to of been installed back in 2009. The ref No (or what ever its called) I presume is 8.3.2.80621 and Mar 10 2009.
Basically I am after updating it but unsure as to how to go about it and what to download. It would be UK maps I would need but if its only Europe maps with UK included then that's fine.
I need to know what to do and how to do it in as simple terms as poss please

thank you in advance :023:

Welcome to NT!
First, is the program on a SDcard or on the device's inner memory? I guess SDcard.
Make a backup of this SDcard, or better use a new formatted one.

Start your reading here:
how-to-f128/how-install-igo8-from-scratch-t910.html
But since it is not from scratch, you will have to create a folder named the same name as on the original SDcard. The exe file of the program should be named as the original exe as well.

Your program is old, and the available maps will not work with it.
You can get a newer program (iGO 8.3.5) here:
program-data-zip-branding-zip-license-f83/igo8-march-2011-t6880.html

Maps (and other files) for Europe can be found on the maps section.

Start your way, and come back if you get stuck or have questions.

Thanks for your help but I have trouble in trying to work out what needs downloading, what files go where and any changes etc :(
I tried to download one the other day and it installed a downloader which messed up my PC and it took me ages to try and sort it to which I am still trying. lol
