Motor gps

Postby IBIS » Tue Mar 05, 2013 9:51 pm

Hi Fatboy fun, hope your still here. I reserched some sites tonight under "free iGO8 maps" it apeers that there are many sites offering maps all seemed to require payment ! so therefor not "free" Of these I came across [Please Register or Login to download file] this site offered the maps I would like in the iGO format U.K. but also spain and france. Would the device be capable of storing all these at once or would I have to store some in my laptop. Secondly after installation will the GPS work automatically as part of the download. The cost of the maps is about 50 USD each is this the going rate, or do you know of any other sites that you would reccomend. Thanks for your continued help.

Hi again Fatboyfun, after many days I have finally downloaded maps for the UK France and Spain. these have been installed on to the device. However the GPS side of things seem not to work. When the GPS data is displayed There is no sats displayed in the "sky view" I have selected the auto find in the setting menu. However the tool bar says sats not found. Help needed again........!

On the screen where the satellite display ring is, there is a little box under the satellite signal strength, what colour is it? (Green/Red/Yellow)

On the GPS data screen there is a round circle in the top left this I beleive to show the sat positions this is blank. To the right of this is a slatted grid on the bottom is a picture of a sat, just to the right of this is a small bar it shows red, next to this is three yellow bars that are flashing. All other boxes ie time ,speed ,elevation and accuracy are blank. Hope this helps.

If you're referring to my post, just saying that I came from IBIS. Has nothing to do with GPS. Just thought it was cute.

If the little bar circled in green is red, then iGO can't see the GPS hardware.

So check the settings...
