how to change SR on chinese GPS

greetings,

I just replaced a broken lcd screen on my chinese 5" GPS/tablet (ran over by car lol)(see link for model)(Android 4.0,IGO,etc.) and now the display is too big for the screen and only half of the information is visible as if the the resolution is too large including when I turn on IGO myway. I checked in settings and cannot find any way to change reolution or reset to a smaller setting so it fits the window. I redued the font size to "small" but I am still not able to scroll down enough to find everything on the screen and cannot re calibrate since half the information is not visible. How do I access the "programming" to either reset the resolution or chnge window display characteristics to shrink everything to fit the 800x480 screen size? I also noticed the white wire from the battery is not connected to anything and there is no sign that it broke or came unsoldered, is this wire supposed to be unattached or does it need to be soldered to something like a neutral? the +/- wires are connected at the correct spots.. I noticed on the link where I purchesed there is a picture of a screenshot showing a antutucpu master free 2.5 that looks like the information i am trying to get at..is that some type of programming software i need to download in order to access the data on my unit?

For the resolution issue:
Edit the sys.txt (with notepad.exe) at the root of your device.
-Look for the [interface] tag.
-Look for this line under the above tag: resolution_dir="800_480"
-If you have it with other numbers, change it to your resolution. If the line is not there, add it.
-Delete the "save" folder at the root of the program, and turn off the device for 2 minutes.
-Turn on device and start the program

Thanks for the reply, i havent checked yet but I'm not sure why the sys file would have changed since everything worked fine before the gps was run over.. is there a chance the new lcd screen could be the issue with how it plugs into the circuit board? maybe not all prongs are aligned?

well unfortunately I cannot access the sys txt since I cannot get to the usb mass storage from my cpu. The resolution is so large that I cannot "reach" the menu tab to turn on the usb mass storage....

good question, I didnt know there was a wrong resolution screen.. i purchased the one in the link above, but it doesnt specify the resolution other than being for a 5" gps:

perhaps something got damaged when the gps was run over? actually i'm surprised it still turned on so i figured i'd get a new screen and see if it works, which so far other than the oversized screen display all programs seem to be working.

i think it may be the screen, i just googled the part # for the screen i purchased (dont know why i didnt do this 1st before i bought it!!! ) and it looks like it is a 480x272.. would this cause the issue i'm having?

Yes it would cause this issue, and the only way to fix it is to buy the correct screen as the resolutions on a PNA type device are fixed and can't be changed to suit different screens.

You could set iGO to use the 480x272 resolution but the rest of the device wouldn't use it.
