New maps for Becker Z 102

Tue Oct 09, 2012 1:23 pm

Hello.

I have been digging in the internet for days, but no success. I have a problem like in this thread: http://www.navitotal.com/showthread.php?2656-Want-to-update-newer-map-for-Becker-Z099
I need to update the maps(they are from 2008). I have a set of 2012 .fbl maps, but when I copy new maps to my Becker Z102 device(iGO 8.3.1.128516), it doesn't recognize them. From what I have read, I need to update the igo8.exe and licence file. There are many threads on several forums, that cover this problem. But every link, where they offer these new files to download, is dead by now.

Can anyone help me please.
Thank you.

I cannot tell for sure that I still have the iGO files you need. I can not check now while at work.
When I get home later today, I will look if I have them.

Sorry, Can't help.

But why not "upgrade" to igo 8.3.5.183522?
8.3.5.183522 from March 16 2011 is a Navon "strip down" build, works on "low performance devices". With Z215 license supports TMC Pro and with Z203 license supports trucker alerts.

LINK DELETED - FILE NEEDS PASSWORD (THAT I FORGOT - SHAME ON ME)

Many thanks!

Downloaded the file for now, will try out the 8.3.5 tomorrow. I will let you know how it worked.

Already ran into a problem.
The rar file is passworded.

It is? I did not check. Shame on me!! I only looked into the .rar file to see what is in it and that worked.
Gee, I have some more rar files and I forgot the pasword(s). :wallbash::wallbash:

Alternatively you can download Chas521 march build. I think it is 183522 as well. But any igo and even Primo should work on your device.

Got it from chas521's thread. Looks like it doesn't work by just copying onto my device. I think I need to adjust the sys.txt file to be "compatible" with z102. But still I feel like I have made a huge step forward. I made backup of my old system, so I can start "playing" with new one. :)

Thanks!

When you have a backup, you can replace the old igo, just make sure the path to the exe is exactly (!) the same as the old path.
The sys.txt could need some tweaking regarding the resolution, but you can safely rename it to sys.txt.old and start without any sys.txt and see how it works. IGO is pretty intelligent and requires not much of a sys.txt, though a sys.txt could improve some things.

TIP: when you make changes, best make a short note of them so you can easily redo when needed. It will be because :
IMPORTANT: as long as you "experiment", delete the save folder before a new start. It will be remade at every start. Any chages from you are saved in that folder, also the wrong ones. Deleting that folder is a reset of iGO.

Forgot to mention this. Most (all?) Becker devices have an hardware "back" button and iGO/Becker software is adapted to that button. 'Normal' iGO (like Chas521's iGO) isn't, so it is pointless to press the hardware button. Not that bad, but when you don't know, it could be confusing in the beginning.
