Becker Z098 updating maps

Hi,

Before i start i want to say that i did made a research on forum, searching for threads regarding how to update maps on a Becker device with igo. But i haven't seen no one doing it 100% or at least telling that was a succesful update and 100% working. So what i'm asking kindly is about the proper steps. What software works better? Can i use another one beside an updated IGO? Where are the maps? I'm from Italy. I noticed that i can only acces my device removing first the microsd card, otherwise keeps charging.
Details:
Version Image: R01.3.0524.0916
Version Software: 8.3.1.128516_(SR3)
Build's date: Jan 29 2010 and maps from 2009.
Any help would be more than appreciated.

The maps you want are in the iGO section: http://www.navitotal.com/forumdisplay.php?82-Maps-buildings-dem-POI
Dowload them unzip/unrar and put the .fbl files in your content map folder (in doubt, read http://www.navitotal.com/showthread.php?11326-where-to-put-map-related-files-in-iGO-Primo) . IF the new maps are not recognized any more, it's a license issue and you need to replace the complete iGO, that is at least the exe file and license folder

The maps are both of the same age, first quarter 2013. Using Navteq maps or TomTom/TeleAtlas is a matter of personal liking, combined with the better (or worse) covering of your country. This may vary. You can try one and next the other, and then choose.

There is one problem: no recognition. How do i change the license and the program? And how can i put all the data on the micro sd card, cuz i have only 2 gb on my device?

I uploaded an image with the folders found in my becker device and in the microSD card. None of those two maps work, so i guess i have to change something. But what?

I see what is on the SD is on the device. When you replace the SD with a 4GB SD you will have enough room for all maps etc.

IMPORTANT :
Take a new SD and keep the original untouched.
Make a backup of what is in the z098 memory.

Download a iGo or Primo
like this one : a slighty newer (than yours) iGO/Becker:
Hidden text: ON
[Please Register or Login to download file]


Edit : upload failed !!! :( I try again


unrar it on your PC. Open the folder that is probably called IGO or IGO8 or Primo.
Open sys.txt and when there are similar lines as the 2 lines hereafter, delete them, then and/or add:

[folders]
content="\Storage card\Content\"



Also make sure these lines are in the sys.txt.

[device]
type="BECKER_Z098"

[sound]
csv_voice_enabled=1

Next see the executable is called "IGO8.EXE".

Empty the iGO8 folder on your device and refill with the content of the iGo folder that is still on your PC with the exception of the CONTENT folder. Put that folder on the SD card. Fill the Content/map folder with the maps.

Ok, i see. From the forum should i download the igo or the primo? I have the 8.3.1.128516_(SR3) version. The 4 microSD card was added after the time i buyed the Becker device, so i'm not sure if those folders were made by the program or by a friend of mine who tried to update the maps sometime ago.:pray:

Downloaded. That was the main problem, cuz i didn't find a 128516 yet. I see that my Avira found it as a virus. Let's hope it is only a false positive.
