Normally it is as simple as moving the TomTom folder to external memory.

KitKat users have most success using the "files/files" method.
See image below showing file layouts.
It shows a New Zealand map working with a Europe app.

You have never said what you mean by "does not work". Was it a "Network" error ?
Did you try uninstalling and deleting everything and doing fresh installs from the original data ?
Have you tried editing the ".metadata.xlm" to better reflect the correct path ?
It has often been found that by putting an extra copy of the ".metadata.xlm" file in each of the folders above and below the correct location the app starts working.
For me on my KitKat phone the app works in both locations with internal memory.
When I insert SD card it stops working from internal memory but works in both locations on the SD card.

Hello,

The application is in the internal memory (android_secure) I do not know how to put the app. on the external SD, the com.tomtom.europe file on the external SD.

I run the TT app, it starts, and I have in the middle of the map screen not found. I think we should give him the path to SD ext.

I uninstalled the map and the app. France, and handed over Europe.

for info I leave metadata.xlm in the file folder, and in the app. TT, although I activate the map with FastActivate.

Do you know if I make a reset this will erase data?

Other info: on my SD ext. iGO works very well (it must be said that initially my GPS was equipped with iGO Truck) i deleted the iGO internal app, and I just handed IGO on SD ext !!

This is goodish news if I understand you correctly.
(You have no TomTom files in internal memory other than the app).
The app has found your files on the SD card but there is something wrong with them.
You should just need to install them correctly.
As you know that that the French map works you should stay with that at the moment.

Hello,
when I put the app. TT in the internal memory with map France it works (France ca holds, but not more),
I will test with the SD ext.
Have you practiced this displacement?

I have tried infinite installation variations.
I might have the opposite problem to you with KitKat.
The map only works from internal memory if the device doesn't have an external SD card inserted.
