Some time ago I uploaded a voice file that enables the use of any TTS voice used on the Android system in Primo.
Simply check my latest threads to find it.
But I noticed that depending on the Android version and other mods the internal TTS system is messed up in other applications or mot usable at all.
Also some devices use a modified Android system that can cause problems in rare cases.

After testing quite a few voices I noticed that my tablet was pretty much messed up with the TTS system:
The Ebook reader would no longer read aloud, other programs refuse to use the vocie selected int he system settings and so on.
After deleting all TTS stuff and only using one system (Ivona) on top of what comes with the tablet all works fine.

If in doubt and only if you can afford the trouble use a good backup solution and a factory reset so you only install one TTS system to test.
One other thing to mention is that these "test versions" of voices often tell you they expired in their settings but you won't see anyting like that when using the voice in othe programs.

It might be a crippled install of android, just like wince devices vendors leave out some stuff they deem unnecessary to save a bit of memory.

You may be able to install an apk that puts it back, my tablet had no contacts app, so there was no way to choose a contact to email etc, but an install of an apk solved that problem.

This is likely to be a specific problem to your tablet.

Thanks Guys.

Downunder35m: I remember seeing a thread about that when I was installing IGO for Android, but wasn't that only for Au Voices (http://www.navitotal.com/showthread.php?12679-Igo-Primo-and-the-use-of-computer-voices)

Fatboyfun: I e-mailed the vendor about the issue 3 weeks ago and have had no response so far. I guess you may be right about the crippling but so far have found no solution or mention of the problem anywhere after extensive searching. :scratch_one-s_head_

The original file was created for the use of AU voices but it works just fine for any installed TTS voice on the system.
You simply copy the zip in the voice folder and selecet "system..." in Primo for the voice - whatever TTS voice is currently used on your Android will be used in Primo after that.

All I need to do now is to find a way of changing the system voice in the settings
