Can't get TomTom to work on Huawei Valiant

Mon May 19, 2014 12:16 pm

Installed TT from thread android-apps-f172/tomtom-android-apk-usa-2gb-map-t15477.html on a Valiant, but keep getting "No network connection. Check your network settings and try again." message when I start it. Did some web searches and found the problem seems to be the app expects its content on the internal storage and not on the SD card. Anyway to remedy this?

Try installing on the internal memory and using the android settings to move to sd card

Just install any small map then once android had created tomtom's private directory on the sd card, change the map.

Android kitkat blocks 3rd party apps from writing to external sd cards by default, you need to be root to change this policy.

Wish I have kitkat, the phone is at Android 4.1.1
Thanks, will look for a small TT to give it a try.

Found a solution to the problem. Because my phone is rooted, I am able to install foldermount form playstore and mapped the internal Tomtom folder to the SD card.
