Hi Titioz , so did you have to uninstall v1.2 first or you left it and installed V1.3 and used the same tomtom folder from v1.2 and edited the meta file size flag?

I use the same tomtom folder from v1.2
I think it must works with a clean install v1.3 (after uninstall v1.2) or an upgrade to v1.3 from v1.2.
And you can edit .metadata.xml before or after installing v1.3.

So I have uninstalled V1.2 and kept the folder tomtom. this is how it looks like:
root folder > tomtom folder > com.tomtom.ukireland folder > files folder + metadata file
This is the meta file content:

So when I launch the new app ( europe ) i get the error message "Unable to connect to tomtom.try again later"

I am using an HTC one (unrooted ) with Android 4.2.2

Any idea where I have gone wrong?

Hi Titioz,
I tried your solution, with no luck
Always the Can't connect to tomtom server error on My S4 (4.2.2)
The map is on external SD (no place enough in internal mémory). Could it be the source of the problem ?

I try only with Europe map.
We have the error message "Unable to connect to tomtom.try again later" when tomtom doesn't find the map.
Your tomtom v1.2 is an Europe apk or a UK/Ireland apk ?

With v1.3 Europe apk, tomtom try to find map in com.tomtom.europe folder and map must be activated with the right tomtom DeviceID, tomtom DeviveID depending on apk.

Also had the issue regarding being unable to contact server.

I have an HTC One and thought it may have something to do with the lack of external memory but it wasn't. I'm on a Mac and had to use the HTC Sync Manager to copy the files over. So...

I created a VM on OSX, installed windows. Installed HTC Sync manager. Once this is installed you can see the device in explorer. So 'the critical bit' (no idea why but...) I copied over just the apk. I ran it but didn't 'open' the app once installed. Then copied over the Tomtom folder (via explorer) and placed in the root of the folder. Took a while to copy over. Ran the App on the phone and....it worked.
