Probably because your 'internal' SD Card is known as //mnt/sdcard/ to your Android system/hardware.
In any case, glad you got it working.
But that's just my opinion..I could be wrong.

I am looking to download Iberia as I need Spain. However, I would also like Gibraltar. It is not mentioned as being included in Iberia or even Europe. Is it included in any of the maps, please?

As far as I know, Gibraltar is not specifically mentioned in any TomTom Android distribution currently available.
Whether it may be included without being specifically mentioned (as is sometimes the case with some TomTom maps), I would not know.
But that's just my opinion..I could be wrong.

Well I can now reply to my own question. Just installed on my original Samsung Galaxy Tab which has a resolution of 1024 by 600. Unfortunately, cannot get a GPS fix where I am at the moment but it appears to be working. Probably cannot check it out more until tomorrow.

Answering my question, both Gibraltar and Andorra appear as countries as well as Spain and Portugal on the Iberia download.

Yes.... you can use your data, and "call home" funktions are also disable both to play.google and tomtom :)

(F.Y.I.: Everything works OK with maps in root. (Do not know if name is sdcard or /mnt/sdcard)
Mmm, I installed map in external_sd (from dir. "TomTom" on) and installed the modified .apk again (After removing old one) from out that directory too. It seems indeed no error on connecting anymore but see '0' maps (If I place it in the root still OK :) ). My question (Maybe my misunderstanding) do I also have to change the/my path (one of mentioned above) in that .metadata.xml ??? Thanks !!!

Ater long testing I and a' few more testers have found that some must have to be deleted:

bloodraft wroth: I want to give you my feedback for tomtom europe: When i install all your files in my internal sdcard ,tomtom forces closed and reboot itself permanently , BUT I found a way to make it works!:
1- In the folder "files/VAutoTTS" , you have to delete two files :Vauto.Paulina.version and Vauto.Samantha.version
2- in the folder "files/VAutoTTS/languages", you have to delete two folders : ENU and SPM
After that tomtom works like a charm! (if i try to put them back, all goes wrong!)

And I can confirm to that all working after that :)

Have fun :)

Yes... offcource my friend... you have to re-place the path in the metadata.xml file to.
You can see the path in Astrofile manager or My Files.
Make that and then you run again.
