You don't activate them in this version.

Thanks for the info here and via PM, Yurbuh Tuggly! As I told you in my reply, I found a tomtom android generator app in another forum, that may be able to do what I asked you (in case anyone else is looking for the same thing, just google it, I won't link it in case I break any rules by doing so).

Yes!
Unrar it and you get two folders: SD Card, and APK to Install.

I downloaded and copied the tomtom folder to my fat32 formatted sd card. My sd card is called extSdCard (so I have /storage/extSdCard/tomtom).

When I startup TomTom (with WIFI and DATA disabled) I get a 'no network connection......try again' notification. What am I doing wrong here?

Might help to know what download you used...
Also from what I kept in my mind you need to install TT first.
Good thing about that is you will see where you have to put the map folder.

Thanks for your reply downunder. I got it working by putting the TOMTOM map on my internal phone. The maps from the first post that I use (europe) are v895.4453. Is there a way to get a newer Europe map (9XX) work on this TT?

Well, the latest 905 versions for Android are posted in the forum, just download and use them ;)
Now that you know where to put the stuff it should as simple as downloading the package and only extracting the map folder to the right place.
You have to delete the old map folder before starting TT.

Ok, so what I did is I downloaded the Europe_905_4801 (2.19GB) from here http://www.navitotal.com/showthread.php?12214-905-Map-Collections-only!&p=101647#post101647.
I renamed the folder to tomtom and put the folder on my main phone folder (just like I did with the tomtom folder that came with the torrent download link in the first post of this thread). Unfortunately it does not work and I get a notification that the server cannot be connected or something like that.
I have a feeling that the problem is that the tomtom apk that comes with the download from this thread is just not compatible with the Europe_905_4801 (2.19GB) I downloaded from here http://www.navitotal.com/showthread.php?12214-905-Map-Collections-only!&p=101647#post101647

What would be wrong with using a complete pack, APK and map?
The torrent is not the only option here.
If you sinmply have the app and add a downloaded map from the map thread it can't work - you need to activate the map.
This is where the packs come in handy, you get a corresponding app and the files for the map already activated, ready to go.
