How to get TTS working with Primo 2.4

You only need the one nuance folder. In your case it sounds like the internal memory.
Rename the enu folder that contains the daniel voice to eng - which is correct anyway.
Then copy the enu folder which contains samantha to the same place. So the paths are as follows:

nuance\languages\enu (Samantha voice)
nuance\languages\eng (Daniel voice)

Remove the external nuance folder.

I prefer svox victoria for the simple reason it has an independent volume control with it. I have small speakers built into my crash helmet so when riding my bike I can get that bit of extra volume out of it. It difficult to hear over the top of the noisy hyabusa engine.

Victoria is a paid for app voice. You may overcome this using lucky patcher but I dont know for sure.

Actually I checked the directory and it was not renamed. How about I rename the Samantha folder instead to eng and move it over.I don't want to screw anything up.

Do you know anything about Tomtom I am having a "no network problem" error on the latest version.

Samantha is english(united states) ENU
Daniel is english(ENG)
This is how nuance is organized in its structure for different languages. I see no reason why it should screw things up.

You need to start another thread for TT network problems.

Hey guys. I was the OP on this thread years ago. Got a new Samsung S4 and after a lot of trial and error. Got something working. But not consistent.

1. Make sure for guys with high powered phones and hires to add in max_memory = 512MB (actually something like 541000000
2. I use the google TTS in the phone settings. I have grabbed a loquendo UK file...but it's kind of iffy. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. The loequendo program files were probably based form the Sygic install.
3. Can someone please load here the Voice_TTS_Pro-eng-au-Android 202.zip file? I can't seem to find a good download link. I heard that was the best one made for the Android system.
4. The TTS "sometimes" says the street name and then sometimes it just says "turn right at the traffic light". I remember in the old day with my old phone and old version. It would ALWAYS say the street name. Is this normal behavior? for a Kitkat device?

Anyways, always thanks for the help.

Not too sure about KitKat, I avoid it. Many things went tits up with KitKat onwards. I stick with JellyBean

Guys,

This will give you English TTS in Android no matter what the version.

This is for Android. NUANCE folder goes into root and voices into content\voice.

Thanks japseye. But the voice alone is not enough.

Chas, doesn't your package also need an APK so that it will show up in Android settings? Do you have that?

That's only TTS, not the program.

Japseye, that file is the only one that consistently has the right speed and sharpness for Google TTS Engine without me tweaking with other things (like flush memory, etc etc). So thanks!

Chas521, I understand what you mean in that you copy the nuance folder into /sdcard and the zip file into /Igo/voice. Are you saying that even without the Nuance program installed, the Igo will "automatically" choose that file?

If we need to install the Nuance program, Does anyone have the nuance apk file that can be compatible with Kitkat?

Thanks.

rdman,
Just put the Nuance folder in the root and the voices in content\voice. No apk necessary. You may have to delete the save folder if there is one.

Chas, looks like you were right. I copied it just as is without any APK install. With Google TTS in the android settings. IGO recognized the TTS files. But funny, the M1 file (male) file was Ira TTS PRO and that was USA English Accent (great!!). But the Samantha file sounded exactly like the AUS version. All that hacking must have confused the damn phone haha. But anyways, this will do.

Japeye, also thank you for the quick response and the APK. and the android file too. awesome.

By the way, Chas, you helped me out when I had a Magellen and you had Igo Hack files that turned the magellen into IGO Primo. That was pure genius. You are truly a GPS guru. Good old days :) Nowadays, cell phone takes over everything.
