Well, I asked, I got it (thnx :-) and i did the patch. It is working (tested with GB Discoverer map).
But after this, I dived in it a little more....

This is my device:

<SoftwareVersion>452</SoftwareVersion>
<Description>eTrex Touch 25t</Description>


So it is softwareversion 452, i patched with '450'.
Could this give a problem?
Should i patch again with the 452 patch (if/when available)?

Hi, can anyone provide me with links and instructions to patch my GPSMAP 7410xsv.
Maps are downloaded on an SD card, however now I get the "Maps could not be authenticated" message so maps won't load.

Check out the Post below. I've updated the link, this download includes instructions.
Use at your own risk I did not make this Patch, the creator AdmNelson is known to have success.

Patched 4.50 firmware has been advanced by 2 to stop it being overwritten by 4.50 inadvertently and to identify it as Patched.

Thanks for the links to the updater and patch files however still not been able to flash my device?

The message below is the response in updater, its been running for 30 mins now so cannot believe it is actually doing anything.

Any advice on next steps

I don't understand what you are trying to achieve as the firmware you have is already Patched and advanced by 2

Those that offer Patched firmware have spent a lot of time testing including bricking devices to get to the point where they can share here. All you have to do is search this thread as most that can be Patched are already here if not just ask for Patched firmware for your device with its HWID and within a day you'll receive an answer.

Thank you for the reply, I am trying to use a map in my 64S that states "unable to unlock map". I thought that by patching the firmware this restriction would be removed? The map is readable in basecamp on a sim card inserted in my PC but not by my device.

The link to the images is very helpful and explains why I had the "no Matches" message

"unable to unlock map" is not an error you see when the device needs Patching, normally "Maps are Corrupt and Cannot be Used" or similar.
Tell us what map ,maybe it is not unlocked properly ?
If Topo Great Britain Pro they have NOT been unlocked.

It's garmin discover 1:50 V3, I have "cloned" an original micro SD which I own but as above it works in basecamp but not in the device. As you rightly say patching has not made any difference. I have V2 which I will use in this device, would have been "nice" to have V3 on this 64S

Try using [Please Register or Login to download file] as the maps on the "clone" are locked to the original SD card.
